The worst Ethiopian restaurant ever, the food tests awful, tests old, and very small. The price on their website and on the restaurant is different, very expensive . Overall the service was horrible. I will not recommend for anyone.

1st timers. Athea, our host, was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered a lamb and chicken dish to share. We started with sambusa for appetizers. Very tasty hot pockets with beef and a dipping sauce. Chicken was fall of the bone delicious. Lamb was sliced nuggets that were cooked perfect. Our meals were served on a tray with their equivalent of a thin sponge like bread that is actually your eating utensil. You just tear this bread and pinch the food with your fingers to eat. Very cool experience. I would recommend to try this. The house iced tea seemed to have a cinnamon taste and was very refreshing. The only down side to our visit was the bathroom was very dirty. No excuse for this.

Ordered takeout and received some of the most bland and worst Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. They definitely cater to a non-habesha crowd. The sauces were terrible - the lentil was undercooked and hard. Their tibbs and chicken had no seasoning.. even when pulled apart and dosed with heavy sauce. Ah man, this was so disappointing. Never ordering from here again.

Went here for dinner with family. It was a truly gross experience. The food tasted old. Everything was pre made so if you cant eat jalapeno peppers, stay away. The establishment from floor to celling was dirty. The men's room resembled something from the movie Saw.

This was a 45 minute ride and worth it 100%. We had the BEST waitress, Athena help us navigate the menu and selections. The food was WONDERFUL and the wine and beer were terrific. We opted to skip appetizers since we thought we might fill up too much. It was a great decision since the portions are generous. This was my third Ethiopian meal -once in Europe and one in Philadelphia. This was just delicious and did not disappoint. We worth the trip...Plan to return for those appetizers and more. Wish they were open for lunch!
Thank you for a special experience.

Truly a gem - we saw plenty of regulars and it's clearly deserved. The owner is a sweetheart and kindly boxed our leftovers and explained the best way to reheat them for us. Both the food and honey wine were delicious. They have gluten free injera and even gave us a card to call a day in advance next time so they can be sure to have some available for us. Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough.

We LOVE Mitmita! It’s become my staple Ethiopian restaurant in Tampa and I love to get a to go platter for the next day’s lunch. Freshest ingredients, flavorful, fast, and incredibly friendly family and staff. Thank you for making every experience the best!

My friend was in town and we visited in a Saturday night. We were very fortunate to spend time speaking with Athena, who owns the restaurant in addition to her husband. Her outlook on life is uplifting, her hospitality unrivaled.
If you love Ethiopian food, you’ll love Mimita. If you’ve never tried Ethiopian food, head on over, you’ll love it.
PS Athena was impressed I knew the capital (it’s Addis Ababa!) and other small facts — bring in some of your own knowledge about her beautiful home country. :)

My Ethiopian wife and I made the 90 min trek from North Port to celebrate her bday and it was worth the drive. Very warm, welcoming place. I felt as if I was transported back in time to African Village setting. Owner and his wife who doubles as the chef are super friendly and very accommodating. Great food. Lots of healthy menu choices for Vegan and non Vegan. Strongly recommend ending the meal with a coffee prepared Ethiopian style. We will definitely go back to Mitmita to sample more of the amazing Ethiopian dishes.

Mitmita is like eating at an Ethiopian's home. Athena will get you thru the Ethiopian menu and the right way to way to eat. You will not be disappointed. Delicious food. My recommendation is to get the veggie platter for one, and add one meat dish for two people. ***To paraphrase Sabrina to Linus, "it's so much better with your hand". Be prepared, try it. Eat with the utensil that God gave you!

Incredible experience for 4. Our combined experience with Ethiopian food was slim and the own was incredibly helpful. We had a lovely early dinner.
