I’ve been coming to Nicola’s Donuts for more than 10 years, and let me be very clear, these are exceptional donuts.
This is not even remotely close to the taste of any chain donut. And I say that as someone who likes Krispy Kreme. Nicola’s puts Krispy Kreme out of business for me. The only reason I ever go to Krispy Kreme is because after 9 a.m., you usually can’t get a donut at Nicola’s.
Why?
Because Nicola’s is that popular.
They literally have a sign on the window that says “Open until sold out.” And they mean it. Yes, they may technically be open past 9 a.m., but by then you’ll be lucky if you have a choice of three different donuts. That’s how well liked, well received, and well established Nicola’s is in the community.
So here’s the truth and my advice: if you want Nicola’s, get there before 9 a.m. My personal recommendation is around 8:00 a.m. If you’re not pulling up by 8:00 or 8:15 at the latest, honestly, just try again another day.
Yes to Nicola’s and all her wonderful variety of flavors.
In my personal opinion, the best donut in the Tampa Bay area.

Sweetest old man who works there and amazing food, the best donuts I've ever had, amazing breakfast sandwiches, great coffee. And when you order iced coffee you get a donut hole on top of the straw. Also everything there is super cheap the breakfast sandwiches are 5.50 and you get really good quality stuff inside your sandwich.

Johnny Nicola worked at suzy-jo's in Bridgeport, PA. This is actually where all of the original recipes came from. This place is nothing like the original since he sold out. Now we have to go to Bridgeport, PA again for a good donut!

I love their cronuts! Apple fritter is so big but some parts of it were dry. Their frosting is not melting easily like other donut shop and not too sweet! I recommend to go as soon as they open because they will close when they sold out for the day, and usually they run out before noon. These box is $24, prices vary depending on the donuts you choose. Definitely coming back!
