I mulled this over for a while before actually writing it but after a week of consideration I’ll say flat out this restaurant sucks. The waitress was rude from the second we sat down, the music was so loud I couldn’t hear the person next to me and there was a bone in my tuna flight. The sushi was tasty and fresh but that was the only redeeming quality of this experience. For $250 I could have just ate at Koya and not dealt with a rude waitress or abysmal atmosphere. Not worth the money unfortunately.

From poor management to the bartenders not knowing their drink menu, being seated 30 minutes after our reservation time (with tables given to walk in friends) it was a terrible introduction to a restaurant that had long been on my list to try. When we were finally seated at the worst table in the restaurant we still hadn’t been waited on, nor had we gotten the drinks we ordered 30 minutes prior at the bar. The experience was a far cry from all the fantastic Michelin Star restaurants we’ve been to before and after our initial treatment we decided to leave before ordering

Exceptional, friendly staff that worked very well together to make our dining experience special. The ambiance was sophisticated and comfortable. The food, especially the sushi was fresh, tasty, and creatively plated. The drinks were an interesting take on some classics.

A little disappointed for a high end Omokase. While the nigiri provided in the seven courses was very tasteful, I felt the portions were very small for the price off the dining experience. Some dishes like the Hawaiian tuna tartar on coconut rice were very creative. The individual nigir of Japan sourced seafood were very thinly cut and were of a singular piece. The scallop with creamed cord was very tasteful but did not seem to follow any Japanese cuisine feeling.
I ordered Japanese sourced Uni for $ 25.00 and was surprised it was only for one small piece of Uni.
Unfortunately I don’t believe that the Omokase at Noble Rice is worth the $200 p/p cost plus for saki and drinks. I observed several sushi orders being prepared and served that appear to be more worth the dining and cost experience. The seafood served is very high end and is a unique find for Tampa. Unfortunately the Omokase was a bit of a let down

It’s not very often I rate a place so low. Before I talk about the areas for improvement, I will acknowledge that the maki (sushi rolls) were fantastic, perhaps the best in the Tampa Bay Area. I will also reiterate what I read before: this place has a lively, modern vibe. With that said I struggled with the food, there was a huge disconnect between the menu and what arrived on your plate. For example, the crispy pork belly, was NOT crispy. The kale salad, did not have shitake mushrooms, as the menu described it, but had dates! With the Dungeness Crab Salad, the textures and flavors weren’t transitioning smoothly, but rather felt like blocks of food superglued to each other. Last but not least, the service was the worst service, we have experienced since 2006 if my memory serves. Our server (Tayler) was argumentative and confrontational. I just said the pork belly was meant to be crispy and it’s not, I didn’t ask for a refund, and I didn’t send it back, I just said I didn’t want to eat it. She took that very personally and continued to embarrass herself highlighting her lack of knowledge and training in Japanese cuisine. Just for your benefit, she said this is a Japanese restaurant, and it’s made using Japanese recipes. Then I asked her why they had gochujang in their food, which is quintessentially Korean, then she said well it’s Asian. So we remained baffled why they would classify themselves as authentic Japanese when it suited them, and switched to a broader Asian when they ran out of excuses. I gave them 3 opportunities to redeem themselves but the behavior got worse, rude, snarky and patronizing. We paid, walked out and didn’t finish most of our food. An absolute disgrace to the Tampa restaurant scene. Management truly needs to reconsider how this joint is run…

Byron is absolutely incredible and so knowledgeable about the dishes and what would fit our tastes. Outside of her exceptional service, as always, the dishes were incredible. Pork belly, kinoko Gohan, karaage, the rolls - all fantastic. The drinks are also exceptionally crafted, particularly the seasonal offerings.

I sadly didn’t take any pictures because I was just amazed by the food. If you have Byron as your server and don’t know what to try, ask him and he will pick the best dishes/pairings. Definitely will be back again to try the other dishes we didn’t have tonight.

Amazing! My husband and I were impressed not only with the quality of the food, but service and ambiance were 5 stars as well. We've been told many times to try this place but we like to stay within our neighborhood. Now that we know Tampa has a worthy sushi restaurant, we are definitely planning on venturing out of comfort zone to enjoy all of the great dishes available here. We tried almost everything on the menu and absolutely all of it was divine, to include the cocktails! Can't wait to try the ramen! P.S. We enjoyed our meal so much that we forgot to take photos of our food!

Noble Rice is truly a special place. I booked the 8 course omakase experience for my boyfriend’s birthday and it exceeded all expectations.
Ronnie our server was fantastic, she gave the best recommendations and had the most inviting personality
Kevin was our chef for the 8 course Omakase. Kevin was THE BEST, he talked with us through the entire dinner and really gave us an experience we will never forget. The omakase was absolutely worth it and the caviar service is a MUST. It added such a depth of flavor we were blown away.
Tanya the GM was so polite and has created a phenomenal team in the restaurant, she was so involved in the operation which is hard to find these days
Lastly we met Chef Jada, who created the menu for the evening. She has seriously out done herself. Not only is the menu perfect, but she also had the kindest heart and you can tell how much she loves what she does.
You can see the love and hard work that goes into this restaurant. We will be back as soon as possible and thank you to all of the staff that gave us the the perfect night.

We had incredible service and incredible food. Genesis was our server and she made our anniversary dinner the best we’ve ever had. It’s pricey but is more than worth it! Highly recommend.
