This isn't my favorite sushi restaurant, but it is so convenient and the staff is very friendly. The food is also extremely reasonably priced. I believe they are now under a new name, Kelp, and will be going this evening to check out the changes.

Sadly, Origami is gone....replaced with a new place that leaves a lot to be desired. we loved Origami and Kelp is no Origami.

I'm sorry to see that Origami Sushi has closed! In its place is now the second location of KELP Sushi Joint. I only ate at Origami once, less than 2 months ago, when hubs & I were home on a Friday, and I was able to try their sushi lunch special. I picked 3 rolls (California, Tampa, & maybe Alaskan), plus the meal included a small salad & bowl of miso soup, all for $13.50. Everything was tasty, with the miso soup & California roll as standouts for me. It's a shame Origami has been replaced, but I'm looking forward to trying KELP!

I checked website to order it seems like its under new owners. Menu changed entirely for the specialty rolls and prices are so significantly higher:( oh no! We will miss the lunch specials and happy hour specials:( Will miss Origami for its great tasting food and affordable prices! Looking for a new sushi spot now....

So disappointed...Origami is gone. New owners, new menu and the sushi is definitely the victim here. We ordered four rolls and they were all just okay...the rice was gummy and the filling didn't taste fresh. The staff seemed a little confused, but friendly enough, for takeout. And the saddest part...no Yama Roll....our favorite roll anywhere.

I love this place..... I have been eating here for over 10 years.

Origami has been fire lately. What Pandemic? Their switch to takeout and delivery didn't compromise the flavor, freshness, or quality of their awesome sushi creations. Takeout is packed with TLC. I've been frequenting Origami during these trying times for literally the biggest rolls for my buck. The girth of the maki is quite impressive. The perfect mouthful size. Perhaps something changed since my first review, or evolution is taking place before my taste buds but Origami keeps getting better. Scorched Earth made a comeback since my first review, and it's now one of my favorites. I order it without crunch since I'm gluten free. Since my previous review the menus have been updated with newer additions, and the lunch specials and happy hour are still on.

Been going here for years. Their staff, service and food never fails! My go to sushi spot in Tampa, especially for this area!

Ordered sushi to go and was very disappointed. Sushi was warm. Perhaps they were short staffed and not paying attention to quality.

We love this place. We haven't been able to eat in, but we have replaced out old sushi spot with this one. The options are VAST. The seafood is fresh and this is so important to me because I'm a fan of nigiri and sashimi. The bowls are my partners go to orders and they have never disappointed us. So far we've gotten the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and ocean bowl. We don't get the miso soup anymore because we feel like it's hit or miss in the sense that there's not enough tofu or seaweed. Anyways we splurged for Mother's Day and it was delicious. There are so many rolls I honestly can't remember which ones we've tried, but it's a mute point because we've liked every single one.

(Delivery order) Wasabi and ginger always come with sushi, not sure why they didn't come with my order? I got a California roll and a crazy horse. On another note, does the yakitori always come with just 2 sticks for $5something? And the chicken teriyaki (not pictured) was made poorly. Taste and amount served not the usual

Great sushi place! My husband and I have ordered from here quite a bit, mostly ordering for pick up. I don't think we have ever had an order messed up, and the food is always great. I'm a big fan of the paradise roll (pictured) and their krab rangoon.

Best sushi in the area by far. I love getting their dinner special, ordering an extra soup and salad, and splitting it with my husband. It's super affordable that way and it's so dang tasty. Their fish is really fresh and I love their miso soup. It's the best miso soup I've had at a sushi restaurant and that's basically how I judge a sushi place; if they have good miso, they are likely to have good rolls. I'm originally from the DC area, so I've been to many sushi places in my life. I would have to say this place is probably the best sushi I have ever had. Sushi is my favorite food, so finding this place and it being so close to my house is a serious blessing. Even if they were 30-45 minutes away, I would still make the trip to see them.
