If you know what Jordanian food should taste like, stay away from this place. Shawerma tastes like stove top shawarma , the mixed grill was also nasty. Chairs ripped up and the overall restaurant is in need of a face lift. Waiters disappear and prices way over the top for a one star resturant. Also gratuity of 20% to add to the crappy food and service. Sorry but I’ve had better food in 1 star restaurants around the real Petra. One star only because the hummus was ok- although it needs real olive oil and not freaking canola oil. Also don’t mix the olive oil with the Zatar, wake up you are not Italian.

I wanted to share our true experience. We were asked to leave a review in order to receive a free baklava, but the baklava they gave us was old, smelled bad, and was not edible. When we politely brought it up, the staff just took it away and said the manager wasn’t available, with no apology or attempt to make it right.

The appetizers were good and fresh, but the main grilled meat was disappointing — not fresh, smelly, and definitely not what we expected. Sadly, the poor food quality and the lack of proper customer service made our visit far from enjoyable.

Updating my review based on the full experience. The restaurant offered a free baklava for leaving a review, but when we tried it, it was clearly old, had a bad smell, and we couldn’t eat it. When we complained, the staff only took it back and said the manager wasn’t available — no apology or solution.

The appetizers were fresh and enjoyable, but the main dishes, especially the grilled meat, tasted off and didn’t seem fresh at all. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and how the situation was handled left us disappointed.

I’m updating my review after our experience. We were originally encouraged to leave a positive review in exchange for a free baklava, but when we received it, the baklava was old, had a strange smell, and did not taste good at all. When we mentioned this to the staff, they simply took it away and told us the manager wasn’t around and would be notified — but nothing more was done.

On a positive note, the appetizers were fresh and tasty, but the main entrée, especially the grilled meat, was not fresh and had a bad smell. Overall, this was very disappointing, and I wanted to be honest about our full experience.
