Food was barely above room temperature. Kitchen closed 30 mins after we arrived, I suspect that was related.

I just dropped by with two friends for the Lightning game. The service was excellent and the bartender, Nick, was a consummate professional from the hospitality industry. I highly recommend stopping by to anyone in the area!

After hearing so much hype about Rome and Fig, our visit was a huge letdown. The two biggest issues were cleanliness and service, both of which were shockingly bad.
Let’s start with cleanliness: the restaurant itself looks nice and trendy, but looks are deceiving. We were served a pitcher of water with visible mold on the silicone stopper. When we asked for a replacement, the second bottle had the same issue, just not as noticeable. That’s not a minor mistake — that’s a serious sanitation problem that shows a lack of proper cleaning and oversight.
The service was just as bad. Our server acted like she didn’t want to be there at all. She placed one of our parties plates down, and the chips hit her shirt - and she dropped a few on on the table. No apologies or acknowledgment. She slammed our checks in one pile and barely checked on us. We sat through most of our meal with empty glasses and had to flag her down repeatedly just to get basic refills. When we asked to speak with a manager, she became visibly annoyed and dismissive.
This wasn’t just a bad night — it was completely unacceptable service and hygiene for any restaurant, especially one that presents itself as upscale. The food was fine, but none of it makes up for being served moldy water and treated rudely. Rome and Fig needs to take a serious look at its cleanliness standards and staff professionalism before anyone should consider dining here.
The manager did try to make it right by comping our drinks, however for a place that we chose to celebrate a BIRTHDAY - we should’ve chosen anywhere else on the strip.

I saw so much hype surrounding this restaurant and honestly it was so disappointing. The two main complaints that my party had with the restaurant were the cleanliness and service.
Starting with the cleanliness: The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice. It was a very influencer friendly establishment. The food and drinks were very visually pleasing and tasted well, if anything a bit salty. Our issue was with the water pitchers that are used in the restaurant. Our server left a pitcher of water on the table when we requested refills on water (we will be returning to this later) and when we looked at the bottle closely there was clear and obvious signs of mold on the bottle's silicone stopper. When we saw this we asked for a new bottle, and the bottle we received had the marks as well, just not as clearly.
The service was awful: Our server was Valentina. She did not seem very happy to be serving out table. Almost everyone at the table has worked in food service or is currently working in food service. We all understood that sometimes you have off days, we're all human. With that in mind, we were all appalled by her service. She was slamming thing on the table and on top of our things. She did not return to the table to the point that during most of our time in the restaurant our drinks were empty, and we had to flag her down to get refills on the waters. I do not believe she was supposed to leave the water pitchers on the table, but because she did not want to pour the water she slammed it on our table and walked off and that is when we noticed the mold. She also snatched a menu off the table so hard that silverware and a napkin flew off of it and she just walked away without saying anything. She also did not card anyone at the table ordering alcohol (I promise most of us did not look over 40). When we would look over she was sitting at the host stand on her phone.
We did speak to the manager about these things but it presented more issues. The manager stated that their water pitchers are only sanitized three times a week. That is disgusting. If they are leaving these pitchers at tables with customers they need to be sanitized after each use. At minimum they should be sanitized daily, and that is also extremely generous. As soon as the words left his mouth my stomach dropped. I would expect more from a place charging $30 a plate.
As for our POOR service, he said that it was a good teaching moment for his server. I would say that if she treats people that poorly, there is no teaching someone to be kind at her big age. He also informed us that two of their servers called out, but honestly that was the emptiest dining room ever, there were maybe 25 people in there and at least 6 of those people were seated at the bar.
I love trying new restaurants in the Tampa area and experiencing the city I am a fourth generation resident of. I love to see this city and community thrive by supporting locally owned business. With that being said I don't think I ever want to go back to Rome & Fig and anything with the same owners. I would not recommend this to anyone looking to have an all around pleasant dining experience. If you want to take cutesy pictures for your Instagram, this may be the place for you (but there are so many better options).

Drinks were decent. Our server, who was also the bartender, was horrible. We went on Saturday the 25th. He never asked if we wanted refills, failed to enter our food into the computer so we had to ask for the food to be excluded off the bill, and never came to check on us in general… I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant ever. He also responded very rudely when we asked for anything. We arrived to our reservation for 10:15 and because two people in our party arrived a little later, apparently he couldn’t split the bill. We then watched the table next to us get their bill split by another server, while we were waiting for our server to come by to ask if we wanted another drink/close us out… he never did. We will never ever go again. Do not go to this establishment.

Eggs Benedict isn't better just because there is lobster on it. Place was nice and service was excellent. Had a great time with friends. That was the idea.

Recently ordered the tuna poke bowel, only to be served the chewiest pieces of tuna I have ever eaten. After I mentioned this to the server and he brought it to the manager's attention, he returned to say that it must be an isolated one time incident since no one else has complained about this. Wow, really? No ownership was taken for the lack of kitchen prep oversight that allowed that dish to be served in the first place or sincere apology for such a bad dining experience. Because, let's face it, after trying not one, not two, not three, but four pieces of chewy tuna poke filled with white streaks of connective tissue the meal, no matter what it is, just is not appetizing any more. The Fig in the Flower drink was very good, the fried green tomato appetizer was average, and the cremy risotto entry with added shrimp was on point. The restaurant itself had a pleasant vibe, ample space inside and out, with appealing decor. However, the tuna poke situation left a bad enough impression where a return visit is not likely or recommended.

Super hoity toity vibe… “better than bottomless” is not bottomless at all, you pay per bottle($30 per) purposely misleading. Grilled cheese was toast with one slice of cheese tops lol.

I was there for a catered brunch. The place is definitely a vibe! The kale salad was delicious! I would’ve had that and the chicken as my entree. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly, however, food delivery was a bit longer than anticipated. Definitely looking forward to returning and trying other dishes.
