This place majorly went down in quality. Shawarma’s used to be the best in town, but the past times I’ve been the sandwiches have been dry. Maybe it’s just the chicken shawarma wraps that are dry, not sure about others. Worst part that is the reason I never want to come is the poor customer service and long wait times. Is it so hard to have my order ready at a reasonable time?

I ordered catering for a team lunch and had an amazing experience from start to finish. They were kind enough to accommodate a pickup before their official opening time, which I truly appreciated. Most of my coworkers had never tried shawerma before, and I can confidently say the food did not disappoint—everything was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The entire team loved the food, and several people asked me for the restaurant’s name so they could come back and try it themselves. Great service, amazing food, and a wonderful first impression for everyone. I highly recommend Shawerma El Shami for catering or any group meal—you won’t regret it!

Shawarma tastes great. However, the portion of meat in sandwiches is too small to the point where you barely taste the shawarma. I stopped going there due to the prices considering the portions of meat and size of the sandwiches. Really sad to see a good restaurant turn this way.

This was the best meal of my entire life. I got the beef shawarma combo it’s an amazing deal and literally the best shawarma and fries I have ever eaten
Both the chicken and beef shawarma are incredibly delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The staff is genuinely kind, generous, and their warm hospitality really makes you feel welcomed. The prices are surprisingly very good for the quality you get, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over five years, since the COVID days, and it used to be one of my favorite spots. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down noticeably, and this is now the third time in a row that I’ve had issues.
Two days ago, I ordered seven shawarma sandwiches for my workers, and the experience was very disappointing. The shawarma was dry, the bread was dry, and I even saw the worker weighing the meat. After weighing it, he took a small piece because it was “over,” and threw it into a pan instead of keeping it in the sandwich. As a loyal customer for so many years, this felt discouraging.
When people pay $15 for a shawarma, they expect meat, not a sandwich filled mostly with lettuce, pickles, and tahini sauce. The portions have gotten smaller, and the quality has dropped. This isn’t just my opinion — the community is noticing it, and people are talking.
To the owner: Please be more generous and pay attention to the quality. You have a good restaurant with a lot of loyal customers, but Tampa has many options and new places opening all the time. If the quality and portions don’t improve, customers will continue to leave and sales will decline. Being generous and taking care of your customers will only bring you blessings and help your business grow.
I’m giving this feedback with respect because I genuinely want to see this place succeed. But the issues need to be fixed ASAP. P.S have some of the workers clean the tables the place is super dirty every time I come !

I'd recommend and I'll be back! Loved the shawarma, I got the hummus beef mixed it with chicken and added extra meat, veggies and garlic. Assembled it at home, was super yummy. Personally I'd like a bit more spice but thats a personal preference. From all the shawarma I have tasted in the US, this one ranks up high! The guy behind the counter was super friendly and accommodating to all my extra wishes 😅
