I'm new here in Florida I'm from St Louis. I go to the smashburger on Dale mabry and the person behind the counter doesn't know anything. All he says is huh huh huh huh.. I wanted to use my $5 discount online with my new order anyway it goes anyway I added it up It only came to 14 something and you have to have $15 total to use your $5 coupon. I only wanted a hamburger and fries so that's carefully planned so will not equal $15 and you cannot use your $5 coupon so I go inside because I want to know if you still sell onion straws that can be put on your burger I walk in the guy doesn't know what I'm talking about. Finally after 5 minutes he says Yes we have onion straws. So I order french fries with my hamburger and I asked do you still have the Rosemary and olive french fries again it's huh I don't know what you're talking about. So then he goes oh yes we do. So I ordered that and I ordered onion straws on my hamburger and guess what when I got ready to eat my food I had just a burger with no toppings no condiments and my french fries were not rosemary and olive oil. You told me to email you at [email protected] are at smashburger.com this email address is not vaild because I tried to email you. You have my email address to make it right All you would have to do is email me something. And I didn't get anything but I'm sorry. I go today and place an order for a hamburger and they want to charge me a $1.70 for onion straws since when do you charge for onion straws because your GM with the long Spanish name I can't pronounce she said there is a charge for onion straws since when.? I drive 35 minutes from where I live to this location because it's the only one close to me. I think smashburgers has the best hamburgers in town but if I'm driving 35 minutes to a place and can't get what I want then I won't do it anymore.

This place has always been my fave go-to for mushroom Swiss burgers đŸ˜đŸ˜đŸ€€đŸ€€ they have actual handmade smashed burgers and it’s so flavorful

Double classic burger was tasty, fries were less than average. Main thing was a regular meal deal cost $19 + tip for fast food, which is the reason I’m not coming back (burger, regular fries and soda).

They made the food very well and the staff was very nice.

SHOUT THIS FROM THE ROOFTOPS—Smashburger on S. Dale Mabry is an ABSOLUTE GEM!!

Let me set the scene: I strolled in expecting a quick bite, but what I got was hands-down one of the best fast-casual dining experiences I’ve ever had in Tampa—if not anywhere. From the second we walked in, Jordan, our cashier, greeted us with the kind of energy and warmth that most restaurants wish they had on their best day. I’m talking professional, kind, funny, efficient—just an all-around rockstar. Jordan made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time.

Now onto the food: I ordered the Spicy Jalapeño Baja Burger and let me tell you—FINALLY, a burger that understands the assignment. Most places toss on a jalapeño or two and call it spicy. Not Smashburger. This burger brought the fire. It was bold, full-flavored, and actually spicy in a way that complimented the burger instead of overpowering it. I felt every bite in the best way possible.

Then came the Cookies & Cream Oreo milkshake
Listen. I’ve had milkshakes across the country. I’ve tasted so many “best ever” shakes that I’ve lost count. But this one? This was a MASTERPIECE. Whatever magic they put into that blend needs to be bottled and patented. Thick, creamy, not too sweet—every sip felt like a hug from childhood and a treat made by a Michelin-starred grandma. It was perfect.

But what sealed the deal for me—what made me want to write this passionate love letter of a review—was something deeper: They give back. As a nurse who’s worked long shifts, seen tough days, and often felt overlooked—seeing that they offer discounts for first responders and healthcare workers hit me right in the heart. That kind of respect and appreciation means everything, and it says a lot about who they are as a business.

Smashburger on Dale Mabry isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to feel appreciated, to enjoy food made with care, and to be reminded that excellent service still exists.

If I could give them a billboard or a front-page spread in the Tampa Bay Times, I would. They’ve earned it. They’ve earned me as a lifelong customer. And I hope you give them the chance to earn you too.

11/10. Go today. Thank me later.

So I've been coming here pretty regularly since it's on my way to/from my current contract. Everything I've ordered has come out perfectly (just one time where it was too salty). Where this place really shines is the counter staff. Isabelle always greets with a smile and is happy to give honest answers to any questions.

Definitely worth the stop, especially if you're a little nostalgic about going back to a smashburger since they all closed a few years ago

It was closed when we went for lunch on May 13. It was going to be our first visit to try the hamburgers. Wasted gas and my 40 minute drive to get there. We were saved by Wright’s Gourmet that has never let us down.

Clean dinning room, good food. Loved the brussel sprouts and shake.

I went to specifically used a gift card I had received but they informed me that they could not process a gift card and the system was down and they did not know if or when it would be fixed.

My honest opinion food is good but for the portion is a little bit pricey. Customer service awesome and really clean place.

Nicole

Great food. A little costly though.

Darlene Euhus

Good burger, but not as good as the burger I had at Bunns smashburger in California.

Richard Euhus

Average hamburger comparable to Steak n Shake

Claudia Mcloughlin
