I've gone to this location for about a decade now ever since I was a student at Gaither across the street. Back then the service was so nice, waiters remembered your name, the atmosphere was beautiful. Post-renovation, the interior is cold and corporate in comparison. Their switch to beef tallow is the sole saving grace as to why I keep ordering.
However, the employees have been absolute trash since the renovation. Backed up drive-thru, swearing employees, constantly messed up orders (almost guaranteed), etc. What got me to write this review is the fact that they never communicate when an item on any ordering app is unavailable. They don't update the app to reflect inventory either. (Getting a Chili 5-Way ever since the renovation has been like hunting a mythical creature)Not only that, but when I went to pick up my order, they told me to just use a non-existent refund button on the Steak 'n Shake app instead of processing the refund themselves. They even forgot a drink, and when I walked back in to ask about it, the employee just pointed at the drink fountain and told me my drink was there and to go get it myself, when it was THEIR fault for forgetting it in my pick-up order to begin with. Absolutely abysmal service.

Staff is very disorganized, they forgot 3 items and they had no large cups in the self serve drink area and I had to ask them twice to provide me with one. I stood at the pickup counter trying to flag someone down for about 5-10 minutes. They forgot both mine and my boyfriend’s milkshakes and a water bottle he had ordered, making us wait longer for our to-go order as our food got started to get cold. Also very disappointed, the store had the labubu promotion posters still up on the windows, but no codes were printed and there was no way to do the free entry. Staff said “well 3 people won yesterday so I think they turned it off.” So then why do you still have 4 exterior signs up on the windows advertising for it? False advertising.

Terrible service, the kitchen staff seemed completely lost and aimless. It took too long to serve the order and even then there was no cheese on the sandwiches. Horrible experience. I won't be back, and if I can tell other people not to go, I will too.

Update 9/20/25: After waiting 20 minutes for a simple order of two double cheese burgers, one with bacon, once again order was messed up, burgers were single patties. I asked for a refund, and was treated rudely. I was not going to wait another 10-15 minutes. I reviewed this place two years ago, and thought I'd give it another shot. Big mistake. 2023 review: Make sure you check your order before driving away or leaving the premises as they will mess the order up 2 out of 3 times. Bacon cheeseburger without the bacon, small fries instead of medium, etc.. And if you go inside, be prepared to wait 15 minutes even for a small order as the drive thru gets food first. I will never return.

Cold fries! And burger! Tall young black boy served me this garbage. If I were white it wouldve been fresh and hot. Passed Wendys to go here BIG MISTAKE. Had'nt ate all day and wasted my money on this. You shouldnt have people working for you especially cooking serving cold food. Times to hard to be wasting money! Not cool at all!!!!!!!

This is the first Steak 'n Shack that I've ate ate with a problem. Ordered a butter burgers, first the 2 burgers were cold , and the slice of tomatoes were soft and soggy in the middle, second there was a giant frozen chunk of butter stuck in the top of bun. This is the first I've ever seen this. Had to bring it back, the person behind the grill said don't worry I got you. The second time around, I got the same burgers , only this time the top of the bins were burnt , butter was still there didn't melt, and the burgers were still cold, and the pickle was sticking out and it looks like it was on the grill while they were burning the bins. And the fries were cold. Had to get a refund for the order. The only thing that was good was the ice tea, which I offered to pay for , and the employee said don't worry and have a good day. Employee were very nice and sincere with the apology.

This could potentially be a really good steak and shake. The problem is a lack of staff. This is an ongoing problem with this location. At most there are three individuals running drive-thru, online orders, inside counter take-out and sit down customers. In general after approximately 4:00 p.m. on a regular basis there is only one person running the whole entire business. During my visit a family came in and just wanted shakes; I also had ordered a shake after my meal. 30 minutes later no shakes. There were also five people waiting at the counter for their orders which had been there approximately the same amount of time. There were two drive through customers waiting and another to sit down customers waiting on their meals as well. I don't know if the person who was handling the entire store by their self was a regular employee a manager or possibly even the owner. With this type of situation what is the owner thinking... is it that impossible to hire people are they paying very low wages or what is the problem. The good news is the restaurant was extremely clean bathrooms & everything. The food that finally got to us was great tasting after having to send it back a couple of times because we were giving the wrong items. Mr Owner You've Got to Do Better.
