Tara would be so proud! It's been a minute since my last visit. This place has transformed for the better, and it was already such a fantastic place to begin with. If you want authentic Caribbean food, don't look any further. Tara's will be your new favorite place! They even deliver...if you're not over an hour away like I am ?

I'm glad I found this place. The shrimp roti was on piont! And definitely the doubles with the pepper sauce....???. I usually stop here whenever I'm nearby as it always gives me a nostalgic feeling of growing up in the Caribbean. Be far the best roti I've had in quite some time.

Also, if you looking for seasonings, sauces or whatever used in Caribbean cooking. They got it!

Her chicken roti was delicious. Her collard greens taste really good. Her oxtail roti was terrible. The oxtails were tough and had no seasoning. We drove an hour to get here. She must deal with a lot of mean people according to all the signs she has on the walls.

The food is fire! Some of the best Trini food I’ve ever had because everything is fresh and made to order! It competes with my grandmothers cooking! The place is in a little bit of a rough area so that’s why there are so many comments about customer service. She’s just acting accordingly to her environment. There’s multiple signs that are basically saying wait your turn, wait for this food, and don’t complain. The owner was as sweet as she could be to me. She even let me pay after I finished eating and it’s a pick up counter kind of place. She don’t take no mess which is how most Caribbean people are! If you’re looking for good food go! If your looking for politeness and the customers always right attitudes go somewhere else!

To the people saying this food sucks, i dont know what yall order or your standards but this place filled my Trini food craving for sure. The chicken curry roti is on point. The potatoes were melt in your mouth soft and curry had good spice and flavor to it despite ordering it "non spicy", which i appreciated. Also, the oxtail was good along with the rice and cabbage it came with. The doubles were on point. And mann that pepper sauce aint playin and the mango chutney was nice. My other halfs family is trini so ive had plenty of proper homemade trini flavors and this restaurant hits the spot. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt and try it for yourself. Some people just mad probably cause the florida heat and humidity lol. And who cares if her customer service is good or not, its good cheap food and all the best ethnic restaurants i know all around america have bad service.

It is very sad to know people can be so bitter in life. The saddest part is when you have a business to run and you are extremely rude to your customers.
The owner's attitude is horrible. No eye contact, walking away as you're talking to her, never heard the word thank you, not even a facial expression of kindness. My kids even made the comment, "That woman is mean." So sad to treat customers like they are not paying for the service.

Tara (the front lady) with tattoos has no respect for anyone. She has no eye contact when talking to her, refuses to give you the bags for food to take home. Completely motionless, rude, attitude. She does not tend to any needs and brushes you off when you ask for something.
The atmosphere of the place is dirty, Tara does not say you’re welcome or thank you.
Please avoid here at all cost, it’s not worth it

Ever since my husband introduced me to Tara's Roti Shop six years ago, we've been hooked! Even though we don't live as close as we used to, we still make the drive out to Tampa just to get our fix. The food here? Absolutely amazing. The flavors are always spot on—truly impeccable.

I've read some reviews mentioning not-so-great service, but honestly, just come ready to order and enjoy the food. We've never had any issues. The owner and her daughter are really just focused on running their business and serving up delicious meals.

So, don't let anything stop you from checking out Tara's. Trust me, it's worth it for those rotis!
