The items actually available for the brunch service were not like the "stock images" displayed on the website. The portions were small, under-seasoned, and undercooked (especially the waffle). These issues combined with the slow service (our birthday-brunch party of 8 were one of TWO GROUPS in the entire establishment) and staff/servers who did seem to know the menu properly, or what the prepaid brunch service included (since we had to pay in advance), and the aloofness of the owner made for a quite underwhelming experience devoid of any real "drip" (NO ONE in our group finished our food, and the owner wouldn't allow us to take our PREPAID meal/leftovers home [to manipulate for the better]).It's unsettling as I was trying my best to give a chance to a woman/Black-owned establishment, however, the "brunch" experience was horrid.*NOTE: based on a June 2023 experience; I was trying not to speak negatively, however, recent experiences at a new Black-owned establishment where the food, service, and atmosphere were DEVINE (Lepley's) prompted me to be truthful about 'Cake Drip.'

The complaint I have is with the website not working and cannot make a reservation. Also, cannot reach by telephone, only open/available on weekends. This needs to be fixed. It’s bad business.

I purchased 4 tickets to the Beyond the Burn Book: Mean Girls X Cake Drip Cocktail and Dessert Experience back in September to celebrate my birthday. The event was canceled last minute due to "unexpected challenges with the venue's air conditioning system" and I have yet to receive my $195.20 refund. No reply to my follow up emails since October, after I was assured, my refund was being processed. Very unprofessional and poor customer service -Rebecca MacDonald

Nice atmosphere, all good vibes and good people.

I have visited this location once and it was such a cute spot and I enjoyed myself . But after what happened I probably wouldn’t go back again. I paid for a ticket to the mean girls inspired invite that they were having on September 8 . Sadly the event got canceled due to the venue having problems with the air conditioning. They did email us saying that we will be refunded in 5-7 business days. It’s been a whole month now without a refund. I proceeded to contact them through instagram and they read my message and never responded back. Now I’m having to go through the trouble of contacting my bank and waiting 90 days to get my money back.

I went to Cake Drip with a group of girls on Saturday August 19th. The decor looked fine, but was empty for a Saturday night. When we arrived we were told they did not have any food or soft drinks. They only had cocktails but as we ordered we were told that they didn’t have ingredients for several of the cocktails. We orderedA few cocktails but the presentation and taste of standard cocktails like espresso martini or lemon drop was not to par. I ordered water and the ice was questionable. They never refilled the water the whole night. We did the candy bar experience. We weren’t properly informed what was included in the candy bar experience and they didn’t have a menu to describe the experience. As we started to choose our candy bar experience we were told that they didn’t have certain types of chocolate for the base and didn’t have several mix-ins. We made compromise to stay and support a Black owned business although they continually told us they didn’t have what was necessary to run their business. We should have left then.We got our candy bar molds on a cafeteria tray with plastic cups for the mix-ins. We didn’t receive enough chocolate and the chocolate hardened quickly. Some of us didn’t receive the correct mix-ins either. We made 1 sketchy chocolate bar each. There wasn’t really any experience to this. At similar places like the Candle Pour your given instructions and can trial different things and are taught about the item you’re making thereby making it an “experience.” We got no such experience. The chocolate base for the bars was overly sweet and seemed to be the incorrect chocolate type for chocolate bars. They offered additional desserts with the candy bar experience but they all contained cheese which I do not eat. Since we weren’t given a menu of the experience I had no idea until they started to bring out a cheesecake and cinnamon roll with cheesecake baked in. The ones that ate the additional desserts said they weren’t tasty and tasted store bought. We asked for forks and takeout containers and they didn’t have any. They said they had foil for the candy bars and offered that. Now it’s time to pay. We each paid $55 for the experience. Given that the toppings, the type of chocolate I wanted were unavailable, and the desserts we were offered were inedible for me, I had to pay $55 for a chocolate bar. $55 for a chocolate bar!!! Normally if you go to a restaurant or other establishment that doesn’t have the services or food you want they will offer a discount for the inconvenience. No such thing was offered. I paid $55 for a chocolate bar! I took one bite of it and had to throw it away because it was disgusting sweet and didn’t have a refined chocolate taste that you’d even get from grocery store bought chocolate.I’d NEVER go back.

I was really excited to try this place. It looked so cute on tix toc. We opted for the chocolate making. When we first arrived, it was very cute inside. We were greeting by our server who mentioned they did not have many options for drinks. I'm expecting the sprinkle rimmed champagne that I saw on the web page but it was not an option. We opted for water, since there was no drink list. We were told some of the items listed for the chocolate ingredients were out. We made our chocolate bar and then they brought us a small slice of cheesecake that was bought from Costco. We were also given a tray with marshmallows, strawberry's and a small cinnamon bun with hersey syrup to dip in. The quality of the desserts was poor. I was at least hoping for a cute chocolate bar. It came out wrapped in scrunched up gold paper with a cake drip sticker. Not at all like the web page shows. It was very disappointing. I felt like I had been duped. The quality was poor, the value was poor. I would not recommend.

Underwhelming and expensive experience. The ambiance is super cute and perfect for all the pictures you could imagine taking. However, for $75 dollars I was completely unimpressed with the food served. For the make your own chocolate bar, you can choose your type of chocolate and three mix-ins. While you wait for that to set, they serve two other desserts. The lemon pound cake slice tasted store bought and the cheesecake topping was just too sweet. The "fondue" was just not bad. The chocolate had an odd taste and the strawberries were over ripe. I ended up eating two plain marshmallows and leaving the rest.Ultimately, I didn't think the experience was worth the price and was disappointed at the selection offered.

We went here because this place was listed as a dessert restaurant but when we got there around 1pm we were informed they were not serving dessert so we left. They really should not call themselves a dessert shop or have cake in their name if they don't sell that.

I wasn't pleased with the menu options. I really wanted shrimp and grits. That wasn't an option. I ordered the French toasted that came with a few pieces of fruit. For $35 that wasn't enough. The music, service and mimosas were pleasing.

Great place to shoot pictures. Nice ambiance. Customer service was great. However, food was cold and not restaurant quality. It was more like I made breakfast at home. Syrup used was not maple, but cheap corn syrup. It was my first time here due to the Konclave. I did not share my experience with others and suggested other places. I was a little upset because my goal was to honor and highlight black businesses. Also, there's no outside awareness of the restaurant or designated parking areas. We did not realize it was a house transformed. I really think this could be a great place with a better approach to managing a business. Seek a consultant on business areas to improve to be successful.

The decor here to TO DIE FOR!!! So cute!!! Very thought out for the gram!! The service was very good!! Food was average, not bad but nothing to rave about. Wish they would have had the chocolate experience every day so we could do that!

It's such a great venue and experience but for what they are serving the price is ridiculous. I ordered the dessert package and I'm convinced it was all from Costco. 1 cookie, 2 pieces of cake, and a pastry for $50. If they can improve the menu this place would be a better value.

Absolutely perfect for date night or a girls night out. Online is hard to make reservations so it is easier to call, it can get pricey but overall loved the experience. I wish they had a day where you could bring kids because my oldest daughter would love this!

On a girls trip and we were looking for black owned restaurants, and one for the girls found this gem. The place is beautiful, vibrant, and has fantastic music. We did the special of making our own chocolate bar. The drinks were amazing with the candy on the rim. If I’m ever in Tampa again, I will stop by.
