While looking for a good local place to eat in Seminole Heights, my sister suggested we try the Refinery. Know for it’s farm to table menu the choices are fresh and interesting. We started with Gater Bites as suggested by our very nice waiter. My Sister had fresh pork roast over seasoned rice which she enjoyed thoroughly. I had Shrimp Etouffee that was absolutely delicious. We finished our meal with the amazing Bread pudding. The decor is clean and simple and I like how they have indoor/outdoor dining.

Great service, decent soup, bad tacos, zero flexibility with the menu. Tacos enchiladas and fajitas can come with different fillings like chicken or beef of pork but even though you get three tacos you can only get one type of meat for all three. I'm still not sure why and I'm betting I'm not the first customer asking for all three tacos have different fillings. Wine was ok ambiance mediocre something between an industrial look and a cozy place but neither in the end. Everything except the meat was unsalted. How much taste can you get from boiled unsalted rice? The refried beans were just plain bad. Unsalted with a bitter aftertaste. I wouldn't go again. Bill: Tacos platter (3) a soup and three glasses of wine $63. Nope....

Add this to the best dining view on the island on a gorgeous Fall day, and it adds up to perfection! The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price.

I celebrated my PhD earlier this evening in this gorgeous place. happy to tell that we had a enjoyable evening and the restaurant was indeed one of the reasons for that strong evening. The stuff participated in a lovely way, the cuisine was delicious and my buddies were so overjoyed. We shall no dout visit again for more events. thanks very much.

The Refinery was well ahead of the curve when it comes to Tampa's rise as a food destination. Years later they are still killing it with custom menus, careful attention to detail at every level, and a commitment to conscientious sourcing and sustainability. They just did a full menu that was classic French-inspired, right now they have a global street food menu! You can't go wrong.

The Refinery has closed. Not sure why the Google listing is still up. I decided to check out the place next door (The Front Porch). Great live music, friendly staff, very homey; different vibe but a great spot.

So sad to see this place go. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing. If you can get in before Sunday you won't regret it.

I moved to Tampa by way of Indianapolis in 2013, the refinery was the first restaurant I went too. I fell in love with the ambiance (old location) and the revolving menu. It quickly became my sanctuary and comfort spot to go to after a long day at work, when I had family visit, friends visiting, trying to introduce my new friends to my “home” away from home so to speak. This past Friday my last dinner at my favorite place was amazing! Hey chef!? That banana pudding tiramisu was sinfully delicious!!! I wish the chef and his wife well, I'm excited for their next ventures, but I'll be lying if I didn't say how much I'll miss them and my sanctuary away from my daily madnesses.... thanks for the memories and so many exquisite epicurean experiences that I cannot begin to count them all up.

The brunch was very good. They had a great choice of beers and cocktails. The environment is very relaxing and the service was great.

This was disappointing. Touted as a farm to table restaurant, it wasn’t. The eggs were not pastured, the meats didn’t appear to be from any particular local farm. The atmosphere was nice, the service pretty good, and the food looked good, but it was bland. The biscuit was flat and doughy. The sauce was not very flavorful, and there wasn’t much of it. The chicken was super dry, also no flavor. Coffee drink and eggs tasted decent. Bacon was good.

american food... excellent. Arrived at seven, it wasn't crowded. The staff was helpful and kind. Menu is like a place in Miami I enjoyed

While the food was good, the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. We only had the nachos from the current rotating menu, which to our disappointment was Tex Mex only, and nothing else sounded good so we stopped at that. Back to the atmosphere... imagine a small warehouse converted to look like a half-finished basement and you get the picture. The bare concrete floors and white drywalls echo every conversation making the noise level annoying, even at half capacity. What really annoyed me was that the TV behind the half-stocked bar where we were sitting was tuned to local news, which of course was hyping up the tragedies of the day, which does not make for a pleasant night out.

Always friendly and quick to seat us. Even on a weekend without reservations. Erika is the BEST! Enjoying the rotating menu this summer very much!
