Sail Plaza is a fantastic stop if you’re exploring downtown Tampa or strolling the Riverwalk, which is how we found it. Its waterfront location makes it a great place to relax with a cold drink and enjoy beautiful views of the river.
We loved the laid-back, open-air setup with plenty of outdoor seating and the lively yet casual atmosphere. The drink selection is strong, from refreshing craft cocktails to cold beers, and the bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food options are solid too, with great comfort foods and seafood-centric bites from Big Ray’s Fish Camp right next door on the Riverwalk.

First of all, whoever tagged this as $10 to $20 per person is inaccurate. Basic well drinks we got charged were at $12 so it will be $30 to $50 per person (no food). It's open, it's wet when rainy, and very cold when cold. I'm literally sitting by a heater that's not on and it's rainy in January. It's an open air drink barn that's out lived the folks who care about it's success. It's the quintessential hotspot for naive drinkers that can't find anything better until they discover the trolley. Next year I hope it's offering better.

Madison is hands-down one of the best bartenders I’ve had anywhere. She’s fast, friendly, and clearly knows what she’s doing. Even when the bar is busy, she stays calm, keeps things moving, and makes everyone feel taken care of. My drinks were perfect every time, and she was great at recommending something based on what I liked. Madison is a huge part of why I’d come back — management should be proud to have her.

I love the atmosphere of this place, but current management has made this an extremely toxic environment. The male cooks at Big Ray’s verbally rate female employees by “how good they think they would be in bed” and then get into bloody fist fights, while preparing food on the line. The girls are told they “haven’t been with real men yet” and then go into graphic details about what they would like to do to them. Multiple sexual harassment complaints have been brought to the HR department, but Linda fires anyone who tries to help these girls. HR barely exists at this point, meaning the complaints go straight to Linda now. Linda then tells the girls it is their own fault “for being nice to their male coworkers” and they should just “talk less to them”. Linda clearly keeps her favorites protected and the men know this. They have even taunted the girls, telling them to “go ahead and report them, because there is no way Linda will ever fire them”. And they are correct.
I would be very careful taking your family into this kind of sexually overcharged, toxic environment. I’m very disappointed and expected so much more from the beautiful City of Tampa Bay.

Great place but later in the evening there was a lot of weed smoke in the area.

I live downtown and this place is my GO TO!! Mostly for the incredible bartenders (Amanda/Christina) who always remember you and welcome you with a big smile. The food is delicious- recommend the shrimp burger and you can not go wrong with the gorgeous views of the bay. Highly, highly recommend.

I was a Guest there today for the 2nd time. Still on my first Drink, was scrolling through the Menue ready to order an other drink and Food.
An older Man walked up to the Bar with a brown midsize Dog. He seem to be well known.
My Observation made me leave.
The Girl came around from the back of the Bar and pet the Dog and had him going in her Face. Dog owner had pulled 2 Chairs up to the Counter and his Dog been jumping up to sit on both of them, his mouth on the Barcounter
So the same Chairs I may sit on
And the Cups the Girl touches with the same Hands she touched the Dog.
I'm highly allergic and as well count on hygiene.
Not going back, even if its outdoor, all open perfect for my Health. This is gross
