Had an incredible meal at this spot—the lamb was unreal. Super tender, full of flavor. Amazing!

The kombu-cured seabass was super clean and fresh, with just the right hit of umami and citrus. Light, but packed with flavor.

Both dishes were seriously on point—elevated without trying too hard. Definitely worth the hype.

The food tasted nice but the waiter was terrible, food ended up coming out cold because he was too busy looking at women and making gross comments about women in earshot of our table. The manager had to tell him to bring me my drink because he had been standing at the bar for several minutes with it in his hand chatting. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re just there for a drink and don’t mind getting oggled by an older gross server.

Went to Union New American on a friend’s recommendation after getting home from a business trip. I was looking to expense a nice meal and unwind, but the experience missed the mark.

I sat at the bar and had two bartenders rotating. The one who took my order barely checked in after I ordered, which was disappointing given the price point. I went with the wagyu skirt steak and the tuna crispy rice.

The tuna crispy rice was solid—good flavor and texture. The wagyu skirt steak, on the other hand, was a letdown. It took 20–30 minutes to come out and was cold when it arrived, topped with a thick slab of unmelted truffle butter that overpowered the dish.

The vibe is cool and the space is well-designed, but when I compare it to other spots in Tampa like Ocean Prime, Eddie V’s, Capital Grille, or Bern’s, the food and service just don’t stack up—and at a higher price point. I also felt sick later that night, probably from the steak.

Great food, great drink menu and definitely a great place to go and feel important. The food was top tier especially the sea bass and grouper.

The Japanese yams, heirloom carrots and Brussel sprouts combined with the fish is Top Tier.

Man, Sean at Union New American is the real deal. I’m not even a gin guy, but he whipped up this peach drink that completely changed my mind—smooth, flavorful, just unreal. I ended up getting a second one without even thinking. Hands down the best drink on the menu. I’ll definitely be back for Sean. Dude knows what he’s doing behind the bar.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Union New American thanks to the standout talent of Sean, who was both the bartender and host of the night. From the moment I arrived, his energy and passion for mixology were magnetic—but what truly blew me away was the custom cocktail he crafted.

It featured peaches and gin—two ingredients I wouldn’t normally pair together, especially since gin isn’t usually my go-to. But WOW. This drink was a total game changer: flavorful, smooth, and surprisingly easy to sip. It had such well-balanced notes—light, fresh, and delightfully layered—that by the end of the night, I had to order a second. Without question, it was the best drink on the menu.

Sean didn’t just make a cocktail; he created an experience. I’ll absolutely be coming back—not just for another round of that amazing drink, but for Sean himself. He’s a true gem behind the bar and a huge part of what made the night unforgettable. Cheers to Union New American and to Sean for raising the bar—literally and figuratively.

Last Sunday, my friends and I had an absolute blast at Union New American on Westshore—seriously, it was the best brunch ever! If you’re on the fence about checking it out, leap on over! The venue oozes elegance and luxury, making you feel like royalty. But let’s talk about the star of the show: the food! We indulged in a mouthwatering array of delights like the Union Sticky Bun, sushi, the legendary Union Burger, and oh my goodness, the Korean Fried Chicken & Waffles! Plus, don’t even get me started on dessert—yum! The cherry on top? The fabulous service from Jacob and Alena, who made our experience unforgettable, even with the restaurant buzzing with excitement. We’re already planning our next visit and can’t recommend Union New American enough!
