Very interesting
Ybor City is filled with historical and cultural roots, and the area is known as the Cigar Capital of the World! While exploring the area you can grab a bite to eat at the oldest restaurant in Florida which is the Columbia Restaurant or opt in for some Cuban-inspired dishes elsewhere. Climb aboard the TECO Line Streetcar and enjoy a free ride to explore everything Historic Ybor City District has to offer. Don't be surprised when you see chickens and roosters roaming the streets - they are part of the founding and early days of Ybor City!
If you are visiting Ybor you need to stop in and check it out. Learn a little bit more of the history and bring home a little reminder.
Cute place with information about the area, the highlight was the gentlemen’s working there who did a great job telling us about the history of the area
We went to the visitor center to look for information and tour the museum. How disappointing it was to stand there for over 10 minutes without even being acknowledged by the man sitting at the desk. I decided to say hello but he didn't seem interested. He walked inside where a presentation was ending and that was our clue to leave. Hopefully others can get the information they need. We sure didn't ??
We visited on a Wednesday morning.
Everything was closed, not one person was on the street at 10:00 am.
Looks like a nice and cozy place but completely deserted in the morning.
If you want to know the lowlands of Tampa, it's fine. But abstain.
I love culture and history, so Ybor City was at the top of my to see list. There is a free tram that transports you to and from the city from various points across Tampa Bay, the riverfront area. We happened to be there during the Pride Parade, so that made it quite interesting. People were nice, with many food options and loads of culture. And, yes, there are plenty of chickens and roosters roaming around. Leave them be, and they will also leave you alone.
Did you know the YCDC has all kinds of information to share with you to make your Historic District even more of an experience in Culture and fun....it's not all about the bars and clubs at night.
There are so many new items to purchase made by local artist and representative of the local history and culture.
Such great history. Don't miss the movie

We Absolutely enjoyed our visit! Phil was a great host and throughly explained Ybor City, the prominent leaders and buildings. I really appreciate the time he took to circle must see places on the visitors map. The movie was awesome as well. Thank you Phil!
The lady in the center was so nice.
Very kind. Lots of great cigar labels! Love it.
