Great roaster. Nailed the acidic balance of a light-medium on the Costa Rica. The Medusa blend is also cohesive and very pleasant which can prove difficult for a blend. Only negative would be the limited parking, and expect a wait on Saturdays.

Stopped by for a coffee today. The guy at the counter did not care about customers, totally unprofessional and rude. I said: Iād like to get some espresso for here, but I canāt stay because of the music (loud heavy metal music) in the background. He says- Iām sorry and walked awayā¦

Been wanting to visit this spot for some time but the hours of operation make it difficult. Today I finally made it in and ordered a Cuban and a shot of espresso.
I will say that it was easily the best espresso that Iāve had in Tampa that I have not hand made myself. The sad truth is, most places make coffee for people that hate coffee. Seriously. Try drinking a simple shot of espresso from Starbucks without all the milk and syrup gobbledegook. Itās disgusting. The shot I had at the Lab was bold, full bodied and sweet. The kind of shot that leaves you disappointed that itās gone when youāve finished it.
I recognized the guy who made the shot as the owner of the shop from the website. He had two separate beans in his hoppers and offered me a choice, which I was very pleasantly surprised by.
I didnāt really visit for the food and I donāt really care much about their sandwiches, but I donāt mind adding as a side note that the Cuban I ordered happened to be very good as well.
I am looking forward to brewing my new bag of Zeal and exploring more of their selections in the future.
