This place was the place to go to for shrimp back 45 yrs ago! Boy has it gone down! Shrimp was bland and not fresh!!! Service was horrible with one cocky kid with sunglasses around his neck doing everything (bartender, waiter). If you needed anything it was a long wait. Tea taste like chlorine and you had to pay extra if you wanted potato salad on your Greek salad. Then they change a percentage for using your credit card! We won’t be back!!!
Delicious! I asked my server for a suggestion of a meal. He was correct. The mahi with Cajun cream sauce was excellent.
Food was quite good very reasonable prices. Average ambiance. Not sure if it was the day or time but service slow as one person seemed to be doing everything.
According to the sign they've been here since 1940. Must be doing something correctly. Amazing that mine is the first review. Restaurant on one side, full bar with some tables on the other. Got a shrimp po boy with slaw and onion rings. On the table fast and it was delicious. Slaw is really tasty but the serving size is small. Probably the only place in Tarpon Springs that doesn't have Greek food. And it's across the street from a newly opened brewery. Service was very friendly but a bit slow.
I think Paul's is the best shrimp place in Tarpon Springs. Always great food and good service. Lots of specials.
awesome food & drinks. clam chowder is amazing
Excellent experience. Amazing food, Ice cold beer. Loved it. It would be our “go to” if we lived locally.
The prices are reasonable and the food is great.
Went there because we like their shrimp lunch and seen in the latest BCC Coupon book they have a buy one get lunch of equal value half off up to $5.00. They also advertise all day happy hour $2 16 OZ Shock Top & Amber Bock. We love shock top so went for lunch. First off we order happy hour Shock Top and were told, it's not Shock Top it's Bud Light & Amber Boch. Another were having a Shock Top and said they thought it was supposed to be Shock Top as well. (They had one and left). We were then given dinner menus. For 1:30 meal. After we were looking at the sandwich and dinner menu I asked about the lunch specials advertised in the Coupon Book. We then received that menu. Needless to say was disappointed in the false advertising. Morgan the bartender gave us acceptable service but wouldn't even check about the Shock Top ad nor was planning to share the specials. Here's the ad they don't seem to be honoring. Happy hour beers on left side middle. We were overcharged!
Diner beware! There is a service charge for using your credit card of 3.5% of your bill. This is posted on a tiny sign on the front doors only. The service was slow. Friday night with one server who had a horrible attitude. The pasta in wine sauce tasted awful, and was cold. When we complained, the server advised he and two other people tasted the dish and it tasted fine to them. The blackened grouper was okay for one dinner, but on the other plate, partially cooked. The scallops were cold and undercooked and the shrimp was frozen, not fresh and still cold. The bathrooms were disturbingly dirty. The ceviche was just a few pieces of seafood and green pepper swimming in way too much lime. The claimed to have New England clam chowder and being from New England this was not New England clam chowder. This restaurant was way over priced for such horrible service and even worse food.
Restaurantji Recommends
First and last time at this restaurant extremely poor service food was fair, price is no bargain. Only came for card tournament and lunch. Card players were nicer than staff.
Worst attitude in a waiter/bar tender I have ever experienced
nice employees...very friendly good shrimp
A couple of blocks off the main drag they cater to the visitors as opposed to locals. Not that the locals are not welcome. We love the Greek food and people. Paul's is very friendly, clean and well kept. Food is very good. It's a quiet place for the most part. Very much recommended.
Best fish & chips special $13 for 2 full meals. The fish was great and so was the service. The portions were very generous for the price!
