Diane and Joseph were awesome. We had a wonderful experience learning all about wine. We are looking forward to enjoying our wine nickname party in the bottle??
Literally have called over 30 times to make a reservation to use my Groupon. Nobody answers. I’m gonna end up losing my 50$ because the Groupon expires soon. Why have a reservation only winery if nobody ever answers the phone ?
Me and my boyfriend visited Tarpon springs winery yesterday, we got our voucher on groupon about a week in advance. The owner was very nice when calling us back to schedule our reservation, asked how many would be in our party. I told her that there was only two of us attending, not a large group and she assured me that no matter how many people we were, every visitor will have a party while visiting their winery. That we did. We went in for the 1:00 group, this spot only takes reservations at 1 or 5 on weekends so don’t try to book an appointment during the week out of your own entitlement. I would like to say that everyone who has written a bad review for this place are snobs who have turned their noses up at the fact that this unique experience is unlike anything you will find at a common winery. They have no respect or appreciation for family owned businesses that are strictly doing what they do out of passion instead of people pleasing. The host welcomed us into his home and beautiful garden for an experience unlike no other. We learned more at this winery than you probably will at most, and the authenticity of the man who was our host was unforgettable. The 80 year old husband and wife who started this business are real people with real experience, and if you have chance to visit this winery then by all means, do it. The facility was not coorperate by any means, but that only adds to the hospitality of the winerys approach. We got to take home our glasses and a free bottle of wine, and if you are expecting crystal glasses then you can go to a neiman marcus and buy yourself a set of waterfords rather than expecting a handout. Thank you so much to Joe for the great time, exciting sense of humor, and well made wine.
P.S. their art collection is awesome too.
Had a Groupon (advertised on their website) and was directed to make a reservation. No capacity to do so on website. Called late in the morning. Gal answered “we open in about 2 hours” and hung up. Called at opening and was greeted with a rude “Hello”. Told them I had a Groupon and wanted to make a reservation. Gal said they were booked for next three weeks. Taking business elsewhere. Thank goodness for Florida Orange Grove Winery in St Pete ?
Literally the best wine I can get in the states! Obsessed with their homemade, clean wine! Thank you! I’m a customer for life <3
I see why they are for sale. Had a groupon and was turned away. It didnt say reservation at all in groupon and the owners argued saying to come back in an hour and 40 mins. Said in 25 years nobody has shown them a groupon saying nothing about a reservation, yet we showed them and they still refuses us. They are unworthy of a winery or a business at all. Literally had to get a refund from groupon. Do not go here. If I could rate this a zero star, I would have. Even the locals said how bad this place is, yet I had hopes.
Don’t buy the Groupon they will not take it. The Groupon I bought said no reservations needed. There was a separate one that said that you did need reservations. I bought the one that you did not. When getting there they told me no. I showed them the Groupons listings where one says you absolutely have to have reservations, vs. the one that does not. The building was 100% empty they still refused to seat and serve us told us to come back at 5pm we were there at 3pm empty no one else in the store. I still tried going after we went to other places in town and talking to people told me not to waste my time. Yeah don’t!! There is a reason the business is up for sale. The response you get is well I’ve been doing this for 25 years! Well obviously not successful or nice about people who just want to come spend money in your place of business. This is the only place that I have been refused a Groupon or even to sit and drink without an appointment until they gave you the time they wanted you to come back. Honestly not worth the time. Only two people for a whole place that could be a really good nice place to hang out. It wouldn’t even take that long to still give me the worse service but still give me what I payed for. When the place was 1000% empty
Such a quaint little tour. The Mr & Mrs were so cute & funny. Definitely the most original & interesting wine tour we've ever been on. The only reason not 5 stars is the absence of white wine, which I really like.
You will smile the whole time. Quirky and loaded with goofiness but we felt it was well worth the money, as long as you don't take life too seriously. This is the opposite of a bougie wine tour so don't be mad at it, just know what it is. That being said, it's great. The couple that runs this has quite the cute spiel, loaded with cheesy jokes, a slight bit of old marriage bickering, and some info about wine making. Imagine your grandparents making wine, definitely drinking some before you arrive and then telling you all about their stuff. They are adorable. Follow them as they cruise around the house and "vat room" on hover-round type scooters, telling you about their wine and wine making. The cheese and chocolate are in keeping with the vibe (hint), as you taste the 4 wines they have created. Not to mention, you leave with a bottle of your choice included in the price, which is a bonus. For the money, the experience is priceless...but like I said, don't expect it to be fancy or serious...because it certainly is not gonna fit that bill. Oh, and don't be late, because they start right on time. We had our reservation for 1:00pm...and were told they don't even open until 1:00pm...it seems that the words "open" and "getting started" must be synonymous haha. After getting parked and walking up at 1:03pm, the presentation was already in full swing. We were apparently late for class. I don't know what we missed, probably a little info about the art, but I think we are ok with that. Definitely go check these cuties out, and support their dream...you'll walk away grinning.
It was an amazing experience and fantastic wine! Joe is an awesome tour guide and has a fun and enthusiastic energy. My husband and I highly recommend this place for something to do locally. Thank you so much, Tarpon Springs Castle Winery!

Owners are so adorable & their sense of humor is amazing the wine was tasty
Nope, Nope, Nope. With respect to the elderly couple running this, it is dirty, under some sort of construction inside and not a pleasant experience. Being barefoot in an environment where food and drink is served is not appropriate. They served store brand cheese sticks and the wine glasses were not clean. We ended up leaving after a few minutes into the "tour", which was a group of us standing in a filthy kitchen area where the vats of wine are. The pictures posted of this venue are definitely from a time long ago.
My girlfriends and I had a fantastic time! The couple who run the winery are so funny and entertaining. It made for a very fun, unique evening out.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed this experience! It was a pleasure meeting the owners and supporting their mom and pop winery! They were super sweet, very attentive and taught us a lot about wine. It was a great start to our day and a pleasure!
We had the best time with Giuseppi and his winery on Friday April 5. His lovely European made wines are elegant, incredibly tasty and we're one of the first wines where I didn't get a headache or sinuses but enjoyed the flavors. Our favorites were Castilla Arroyo(?) and the Pinot Noir. An educational, informative and tasty experience. Joe even sang Happy Birthday to Louie!
