One of the neatest coffee shops I have been to.... Neatly decorated and cozy and friendly service.
Delicious coffee with lots of selection and great customer service.
Step back in time to the 1800s & enjoy the simpler times. Exquisite atmosphere, service, price and coffee.
Super cute and chill vibe. Kind of small, not a lot of seating, but what seating they do have is very comfortable. The pastry cabinet is fresh and the coffee is very smooth. The decorations are the selling point. Very creative, very nice, beautiful view of the lake, and the 1930s music play in the background says it over the top.
Of all the coffee shops I have been to, this one is very unique and located right in downtown Tavares on Lake Dora. One of my favorite stories is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and when I walked in here, I fully expected to see Jules Verne and Captain Nemo having coffee!
There are many options to choose from in terms of coffee: cold, hot, iced, frappe, etc... There are also some pastry items as well that you can buy such as muffins, cake pops, Danish's, etc... For the muffins and Danish (these I have tried) they are pretty decent but nothing that stood out greatly to me. If you are looking for something to have with your coffee, they will do.
The coffee and frappes are good, very tasty and they provide plenty of choices with their iced and frappe drinks to choose from and various sizes to choose from.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars for this review is due to the price of items. I work right near this shop and when I went here with a couple of co-workers, we ended up paying roughly $14.00 to get a frappe drink (large) and a Danish. We were not expecting to pay that much. They do have a menu; however, I am not a fan of any establishment who does not post the prices on their wall menus/menu boards. It is a little easier to post pricing on the wall / board menus for all to see instead of a few laminated menus at the register. Not a huge deal, just something to notate. Lesson learned about what to get and just visit as a treat once in a while.
Overall, this is a great place to visit at least once, and I believe that there is something for everyone for a treat. Outside sitting that looks out onto Lake Dora to sit and relax, especially if you are staying at one of the hotels located right there. Staff is super friendly and pretty quick with orders.
This coffee shop is so neat! It is nautical/steam punk themed. Ordered a Butterbeer latte and a chocolate cake pop. Both so good!
I got an Americano 16oz less than $5 friendly staff a short walk from the court house. Was summoned for jury duty wasn't selected so I got to go home. Came here to wait for my ride. It was a good decision. Too bad I'm too broke to try the food.
Been here multiple times. Atmosphere is great, very cute decor. Quality of coffee is just not there. I’ve tried multiple times. The coffee is weak and lacks flavor or just tastes like the beans are burnt. The flavors sound great, but the drinks are lackluster unfortunately.
Easily the best coffee shop around with a creative origin story connecting it to the bar and lounge "The Argonaut"

Really neat decor. Ok coffee.
$2 tip for a $6.50 coffee and I get a sneer from barista when I say Merry Christmas.
Swallow your feelings and realize you’re in the service industry. Won’t patronize this business again.

Cozy, thematic ambience meets delicious coffees and sodas! This outstanding little coffee shop serves a wide variety of flavorful options in a retro maritime setting with all the details of one of those fancy Orlando theme parks. The atmosphere of this coffee shop is top notch! I especially enjoyed the '30s era music loop playing in the background as we sipped our coffees and took in the sights. Definitely a must-do experience!

So glad I decided to look around for a coffee shop instead of stopping at a fast food spot.
Firstly, the atmosphere is absolutely it. The nautical theme with muted 1920/30s era pop is fantastic. Wonderful to either sit for a moment and enjoy your coffee or to stay a while and read or study.
The service is also fast, and friendly. My barista showed me their regular and seasonal options and helped select a perfect flavor for today.
And lastly the pastries and coffee hit. I needed something for a quick travel breakfast and not only were the pastries good (i had a cheese danish) but the latte (even flavored) has a good distinct espresso taste. Much better than chains that over sweeten their espressos.
Wonderful location lakeside as well!
Parking: Easy to find parking but also easily accessible by walking! Good for stopping by for coffee or happening upon during a day by the lake

I forgot to ride a review when I was there. I was there in June. 2024. I'm a big coffee person. I come from New York. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable if you love Harry Potter or anything of this sort like that. The coffee was absolutely amazing. I made a mistake and ordered the hazelnut latte with oatmil. I didn't know it was oatmilk until I read the menu again and I was shocked how much I liked it. But if you around the area go check it out definitely worth going and worth taking pictures. The staff is absolutely friendly and kind and humble. I actually can't wait to go back to Florida and that's one of my first stops.
