I was so pleased to hear that this Cody's had gone out of business!!! Obviouly they had a problem with food, service and entertainment. Looking forward to a new restaurant in its place.

Just got back from an unfortunate dining experience at Cody's on Mulberry Lane in The Villages. The service was horrible. We finished our beers and asked for glass of water. It took 15 minutes and we had to ask for it 3 times. My buddy ordered a burger and fries which he said was good, but my chicken fried chicken had a strange disinfectant taste to it. And, it took 40 minutes to get to our table! I sent it back after just one bite. The manager came over and offered to make me another one, and I appreciate that. But I sure didn't want to wait. I've eaten there before and it was fine, but tonight was a disaster.

Got there at 6. Was told 40 to 45 minute wait. No problem. Good music, friendly bar staff. Hour and 15 minutes later finally got a table. There was only one table of 8 and 3 tables of 4 in the main dinning room. Was told that they were waiting on the dishwasher for clean silverware. Really? Ordered a burger and onion ring. First told that they were out of burgers. Waiter went and checked and came back and said the manager was grinding more beef for burgers so we stayed with our original order and told the waiter to bring the onion rings out with the burger. Nope, the onion rings came out, with no burger. About 30 minutes later the waiter came back and saw we never got our burger. Went to check on it. We left 15 minutes later. No burger. Poor, poor organization.

Love Cody’s, however this location has had problems since opening. Service is one of the worst in the area! Been there several times, but this was the ultimate in poor service. Love their food, and that is not an issue... it’s the service! Can only blame management for not addressing this. It took us ONE HOUR & 10 MINUTES to receive our food order. Slow service has been the issue in the past, but this time....golf groups, multi couples, all been slow... WOW

We like Cody’s and tried the 2 for 1 fajitas but they were lacking. My bad for getting them anywhere but a Mexican restaurant. The bartender was more interested in socializing than serving customers but there were 2 others that picked up her slack. The cake was awesome as always and we will return and just stick to what we like there.

We have always enjoyed our food there. Today I am sick with a cold so I ordered take out nachos and mushrooms. My husband got the baby back ribs which he said were very good. My nachos must have been made before the ribs were done. They were soggy and everything (cheese, meat etc) was lumped all in the middle. The mushrooms crust was also mushy. We only live around the corner in Calumet Grove, so no reason for the food to be in this condition. Was very disappointed with the food prep and how the timing items of the order were prepared. Plus the girl who took our order said it would be ready shortly, now I'm realistic so my husband and waited 20 minutes before going over there. Almost 25 minutes later he got our food. One good thing my husband got that mile high chocolate cake which was very good. Was disappointed they didn't put any hot rolls in with his meal.

Cody's had a New Year's Eve special of a small filet and a lobster tail. The filet was fine,( I've had better), but, the lobster tail was undercooked. They took it back and brought me another lobster tail. It, also, was undercooked.

First i want to say having a DJ on outside patio with Karaoke was great. He was great he walked around took request was personable. Made the night fun. Here's where i have to disagree with a few things. We were greeted by one server then another one came by to take our drink order since the first one just asked if anyone stopped by to get our drink order but didn't take it. Then first server proceeds to have an agreement with the lady who took our order out on the sales floor. Are you kidding me? Where we can all see and hear what's going on. Very unprofessional. The service was downhill from there. When she brought our food she even gave us the check. Didn't ask if we need Anything else. She was terrible. I would of wanted the second server she was so much more pleasant. You ask why three stars. They have great entertainment. The heaters in patio were great. The customers around us made the experience for us.

The service was horrible and the food was not much better! I ordered the rice and beans and when I got yellow rice, I said I would prefer white rice to go with my black beans and the waiter let me know real quick that it was my problem because that's the way it comes! It was disgusting to say the least and he brought me a box to take it home! I left that nasty food right on the table and he never removed any dirty dishes and the flies were on the dirty dishes at the table next to us.The sad part is they weren't busy! The bar was filthy and covered with dirty dishes and more flies! I haven't been back to Mulberry Cody's and probably never will. I wish they were like the one in Crystal River, that one is Awesome!

Sorry to say that Cody’s has gone down hill. The last few times I’ve eaten there my food was Luke warm at best but, tonite took the cake. At 6:10 pm on a Wednesday night, out of Jack Daniels, out of Baked Potatoes, out of rolls, mashed potatoes as replacement were not hot, nor was the steak! The Manager, Mel, doesn’t get it. It was not 8:00 it was 6:00, height of the dinner hour but they can’t budget for a dinner crowd for potatoes or bread. No wonder they were half empty. This happened when this restaurant opened. The we get the bill, nothing for inconvenience. Not looking for a freebie, just an acknowledgement, maybe for the lack of Jack. Really. Well it will be a while before we go back. Get your act together, you are in season.

Nice location at Sumter Landing with views over the lake...lots of good fried food options but beware the truly awful music entertainers they have at lunchtimes outside...better music and a/c inside,

Went for dinner on a Sunday evening we had the onion stack and beer batter mushrooms followed by t bone steak and jacket potato. The food was good not exceptional but tasty enough however the staff were off hand looked like they really didn’t want to be there and we had to work hard to catch there attention with so many good food places in Sumter landing I wouldn’t rush back in a hurry.
