We went to Kilwin's @ The Villages - Spanish Springs tonight for an ice-cream and after waiting in line for over 15 minutes, we left. Not because of the wait but because employees do not know how to use gloves! One employee took cash and never changed gloves, then proceeded to serve everyone ice cream and even change out the big containers of ice cream after touching cash. The other employee wore one glove the whole time and 1 hand free but was touching cash with the gloved hand. The 3rd employee did not have gloves on and was serving people ice cream. Then took cash and was digging in the cash tip jar to make change, then went back to serving ice cream without gloves. Is this acceptable??? Very disappointing Kilwins do you not train employees to wear gloves and know when to change them?

If you are in the area, you must stop in and enjoy what this lovely chocolate shop has to offer. There are so many sweets to choose from. I went for the ice cream, and it did not disappoint. Beautiful shop and lots of tables outside the shop to sit and enjoy a treat. The service here was excellent. Everyone working was great and very helpful. I will definitely be back.

Stopped in for ice cream on the way back home. We were told this is the place to go for great ice cream, and we were told right. There are so many flavors to choose from, and they don't just have ice cream, there is also house made fudge that they make fresh, and more candies and chocolates to purchase. I ordered the sea salt chocolate Carmel ice cream in a dish and it was amazing. My husband ordered a cone of the Mackinac Island Fudge. He thought it was good, but wished there was more fudge mixed in.

I was so disappointed on my last visit. It started because there were 6 people behind the counter when I walked in. I looked around, and no one greeted us. We were the only patrons on the store. I decided what I wanted and went to the register to order. The staff continued chatting, ignoring us. Two more patrons walked in and started browsing. Nothing from the staff. They browsed around while I stood at the register patiently. After 5 mins, the other customers were ready to order, and they tried to get the staff attention. Finally, someone noticed us and served the other patrons. I was so frustrated at this point, but another staff member finally came to assist me. I ordered 4 small chocolate covered strawberries, and it was 18 dollars. We sat and ate our strawberries, but I'll never be back. Between the service and extreme over pricing, the store is no longer what it used to be. The flavor of the chocolate isn't even what it used to be.

So many sweet treats! I had a hard time choosing just one chocolate treat but I went with some non-pareil chocolates. This is definitely a once in a long while treat because it’s pricey. I was shocked to see that waffle bowls and cones were over $7 each! Otherwise it’s a great place and they have stickers for the kids that are oh so cute. If you’re feeling fancy definitely visit them.

Kilwins has good candy and good ice cream, but is extremely lax about employee hygiene. I don't expect the men and women who wait on me in public to be young and attractive, but I DO expect them to be clean cut and properly groomed. This means no facial piercings, no visible tattoos, and no facial hair. That last requirement is vital when it comes to food handlers. The young man who waited on me had a full beard, and that is unsightly, unsanitary, and unacceptable. It is a scientific fact that men shed hair very rapidly from their beards, and a recent study showed that men can have more bacteria in their beards than dogs do in their fur. The thought of that disgusting beard hovering over my ice cream, possibly shedding bacteria-laden hair into my food was not comforting..The management does not seem to care about this, given the fact that I have complained in the past and they have taken no corrective action.
