I haven’t eaten at Merto diner about 6 months. My son, daughter in law and I went there on Saturday. All three of us were very disappointed in our meals. I had the steak rice bowl . My son had the chicken sandwich and my daughter in law had breakfast. My steak was tough and the rice was tart. Son’s sandwich was mushy with undercooked onion rings. Daughter-in-law said the only thing eatable on her plate was the bacon. Then the waitress had to nerve to ask if we wanted Togo boxes because hardly anything was wanted on our plates. We will not be returning to Metro Diner in any of your locations

Ate one time here last year and the food was so good and the portions were very nice so returned with friends and sadly very disappointed. The first visit the plate was full and the fish was served over a hearty portion of French fries and the fish was so long it hung slightly over the plate. It was served hot and delicious! This trip there were a small amount of fries and an even smaller piece of fish. It comes with a coleslaw and another side choice. Remembering the large portion of french fries from last visit I decided to do a side salad as my other option and asked if I could not have the fries and have 2 side salads. Nope, I was told no substitutions for early bird meals so I changed my order to a regular dinner thinking I'd take the extra home and asked for the 2 side salads. Still nope! If I added a side salad it would be $1.50 up-charge for both salads since I was eliminating the fries. So went back to the early bird and kept the fries I knew I wouldn't eat. Posting a picture of the meal. I broke off a small piece on the end of the fish before I took my picture to check it. Noise sitting by the open kitchen was quite load.

White gravy without sausage would be great at this place. It's cheap to make. If I wanted sausage in my gravy, I would go to Cracker Barrel.
