First you walk in and you need to use a kiosk, which I’m OK with except it was filthy and there’s nothing beside them to clean the screen. We put in our order and waited a reasonable amount of time french fries were not hot and my sandwich was below par. We had to get water and napkins to wipe our table off because it was dirty. The glass partitions also dirty. The wall look like it had a patch in it and it didn’t get finished. The floors look dirty. Husband use the bathroom no paper towels. Needless to say, my husband and I agreed there was no reason for us to come back.

Arrived at 5:55 PM on a Monday night. Few cars and only six people inside including only 2 employees. Kiosk prices did not agree with hard paper menu. Convoluted process for entering extras. Entered two orders at 6:04 PM. First order came in a timely manner without an ordered milk shake. Had to get it fixed by a cook at the frying grill! Waited another 10 minutes and second order had not come. I inquired of same cook and he said it was coming. Waited 10 more minutes and got the second employee. He apologized and said he had no idea what happened to the second order. During this time four other customers entered and and were served. No manager present. Finally got second order at 6:37 PM. Go figure if this business plan is acceptable.PS: My favorite place to eat while in college many years ago at the University of Illinois was a Steak and Shake. A good memory has been tarnished!

Got a western burger combo with cheese sauce as well as a double steak burger with fries. Came out hot and fresh, which you could tell from the steam. Everyone knows steak and shake fries are not the most favorable, but with how hot they were and the cheese sauce, I ate every single fry. Perfect for a quick, inexpensive, bite. I must add how clean it is in here! Bathrooms smelled great and were also clean.
We enjoyed the service we received from Joann who made our food just as we hoped with all the goodies we like. She has a pleasant personality, which is hard to find these days.

Use to love this place when you sat down to eat and got served now you have to order on a computer before you sit yourself and get up to get your food and the drink system is a joke you have to scan your recipe to get your drink only have a limited time to pick and you get no refills only seen 2 people working and my burger was not cooked!!! ITS HORRIBLE AND WAY OVER PRICED!!!
