Ms V. was absolutely amazing. That fried chicken and fried fish is on point. Don’t pass up the best food and sweet tea around. We will be back before we head home to Indiana.

We live locally but had never been in, but it was on our list to try. We had houseguest and watched Restaurant Impossible and I recognized this place. My guest wanted to try it so I thought it was time.
We went in on a Tuesday about 11:30. Prime lunch time if not a smidge early. There were 3 tables each with couples- 6 total guests. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. We recognized the decor from the show and sat under the restaurant wall sign against the wood “cabinets “. We received laminated menus quickly and began to look for our lunch.
I noticed that the prices were considerably higher than the show prices- but that made sense since the show was a few years old. After placing our order I went to the restroom. Mostly clean, but a long rectangular light fixture had been replaced and the drywall, paint, wires (and wire nuts) were all still exposed. Looked like it was not a new situation from the dust located on the jagged drywall.
I returned to my booth and noticed that the wooden wall was splattered with a variety of old food. Gross. There was a caution sign (wet floor) between our booth and the one to the east- yet the floor was not wet.
Service was slow- I heard the lone server tell another table that she was the only server because they used to not be open on Tuesday. Since there was only 9 total people (4 tables) I didn’t think this was too much. My water stayed empty most of the meal- when it was filled up, I was so thirsty it was gone quickly.
Food- I ordered the meatloaf and hoped it would somewhat resemble the deliciousness that Robert Irvine had plated on the show. It arrived covered with Sysco cheese sauce, surrounded in flavorless green beens (very surrounded) and sitting on a bed of the worst instant mashed potatoes I have ever had the misfortune to stick in my mouth. The “crispy” onion straws on top were limp and chewy- anything but crisp. The meatloaf itself lacked any real flavor, griddle char, and reminded me of canned cat pate’. This entree cost $18.
My adult dining companion ordered the “house recommended” pork chop. It was tougher than shoe leather and at one point she just about had to stand up to get enough leverage to cut it. She did say it had a good flavor though. The collards lacked all flavor (I tried them too) and my dining partner could have made them 100 times more flavorful. My little dining partner got a kids hamburger with no toppings. It arrived satisfactorily, with little flair or fuss.

THE ONLY THING that was delicious or even noteworthy was the fried green tomatoes. At about $1 per slice as an additional side, they were heavily breaded in a flour coating, and fried to perfection. They were all pretty uniform in appearance so I wonder if they were done in house or purchased frozen. They were the only reason we left full.

The server was busting her butt, and in walks the owner. He looks around and then goes over to sit down at a table of guest and proceeds to talk to them- while our glasses are all empty and the server is hustling to bring out food. He apparently had little care about his other guests. My plate of food was sitting in front of me 1/2 eaten- and I was done with it. Nobody asked me how my meal was- apparently nobody cared.

I took our uneaten food home for my chickens, and interestingly they would not even eat the meatloaf.

This meal was over $60 for food that was just about inedible. There is no way we will ever return. The one star was solely for the fried green tomatoes.

Like a step back into the hospitality and great food that true Southerners know and hold dear. Everything we had was outstanding from the Fried Green Tomatoes to the BBQ Meatloaf to the Brussel Sprouts. This restaurant is a true oasis of taste in a desert of food blandness. It is clearly born from hard work and a passion for food that comforts the soul. Coming soon to International Drive in O-town. As an added bonus, ask about the hand lotions and body scrubs sold by some of the staff...excellent products as well. Overall, so happy we listened to the reviews. It was worth the trip. PS...LOVE THE NAME!!!

About the 6th time I have been here. As a Brit learning about other cuisine I still have trouble with Chicken Gizzards. All the staff are helpful and more importantly cheerful and seem really interested in making sure you have a good experience. Today our server was Miss Vi. Food has always been good with nice portions so you don't have to look for a hamburger place when you leave because you are still hungry. Only complaint is that you can only get certain things like Pot Roast and Liver and Onions once a week.

I love this place. I woke up wanting soul food and one place came too mind, Lloyd Have Mercy. I live in Rockledge but the drive was worth it. The food was amazing, the best banana pudding I ever had. Our server Ms. V was great. Me and my family will definitely be back!

Everything was great. Staff was very friendly and worked to make sure we were taken care of. They even closed the entire restaurant to the public for 2 hours to accommodate our group of senior citizens.

I knew Loyd Have Mercy was going to be a good dinner but I had no idea it was going to be THAT good!

This was my first trip to central Florida and I did my homework to find the best local restaurants I could. Loyds menu promises so many of the best southern foods and coming from the Pacific Northwest, I was looking forward to the meal.

The food, exceeded my expectations. I am still stunned at the sides and how they set my new standard for black eyed peas, fried green tomatoes, and those sprouts. Of course the pork chop was exceptional, I'm just sorry I was full. I need to go back and try everything that kitchen puts out.

Atmosphere was warm, inviting, and fun. Families were gathering for dinner and friendly conversations were being had between guests.

Miss Viviana is also unforgettable. She's something special for sure and there's a good reason she's mentioned by name in reviews.

A must visit when I am in the area again!

If you're craving authentic, heartwarming soul food, look no further than Lord Have Mercy. This hidden gem delivers a culinary experience that feeds not only your body but your spirit.

From the moment you walk in, the aroma of simmering greens, slow-cooked meats, and fresh cornbread embraces you like a hug from grandma. The menu is a love letter to Southern comfort food, with each dish crafted to perfection.

The fried chicken is a masterpiece – golden, crispy, and seasoned to perfection, with meat so tender it practically falls off the bone. The collard greens, seasoned with just the right amount of smoked meat, provide a rich, savory depth that pairs beautifully with their creamy mac and cheese. Speaking of the mac and cheese, it's the star of the sides – decadent, cheesy, and baked with a perfectly crisp crust.

Don’t skip dessert. Their sweet potato cake tastes like it was plucked straight from a family reunion – full of flavor, perfectly spiced, and not too sweet.

The atmosphere is as warm as the food. The staff are incredibly friendly, making you feel like part of the family. Whether you're a soul food aficionado or just looking to try something new, Lord Have Mercy is a must-visit for an unforgettable meal. Trust me, one bite and you'll feel the love in every dish.

We can't say enough great things about our first experience here.

The food was so incredible, we couldn't stop ourselves to take pictures... we just went for it. ?
The smothered pork chop, greens, brussel spouts, cheeseburger, and fried green tomatoes were absolute perfection! Not to mention, the remoulade for the tomatoes... wow! Plus the portions were large! We definitely needed a box for leftovers.

We topped it off with the peach cobbler that was kind of reminiscent of the most incredible cobbler/bread pudding you could ever imagine... and we topped it with ice cream. O-M-G!

Nikki provided us with the BEST service, and Mr Loyd even came to say hi!

One of our new favorites in Brevard. We HIGHLY recommend... and we will be back! ??
