If you’re heading to Silver Glen Springs, this spot is your last real food stop—and it’s a solid one. Great place to grab some Mexican food before hitting the park. I picked up the birria tacos and they were packed with flavor—tender and juicy. Perfect to enjoy later while relaxing by the water. Whether you’re stocking up for a picnic or just need a quick bite, this place won’t disappoint.
El Pastor is a little store front restaurant with 6 tables, five of which are four tops. So depending on the time you get there, you could end up waiting.El Pastor honestly makes the best (Fridays only) Tamales I have ever had with a good balance of filling to maize.I had the (chicken ) soft corn taco lunch combo with rice and delicious refried beans and two tamales with a tamarind agua fresca. All of which were excellent. I would drive to Umatilla again just for the tamales....
I think a 4.5 rating would have been a little more appropriate. We really enjoyed the food, although it wasn't nearly the best we've ever had. But it tasted fresh and well cooked and it was a perfect amount , so I don't see any reason to knock a star off for the food.We liked our waitress, but she was taking a lot of time to ask us if we needed anything after we finished eating. We wanted to order dessert, but waited a long time, as I suspect she was busy cooking...
