I just got back from Dairy Queen in Venice, ordered three items, but only two of them were in the bag. I went back in to find out where the fish sandwich was, and was berated by their staff. Telling me to go get the bag which I already gave to my wife and son, with their food in it, since we waited so long to get the food to begin with. Right when she came out with the food we said it didn’t look like everything was in there and she threw it at us and said everything was in there. Of course it was missing the fish sandwich. No money back no fish sandwich, I wouldn’t want the money back and after being berated by them, I didn’t want the fish sandwich either.

This was my third and final try. All 3 times I walked out. All 3 times were in the afternoon after 2 pm. They seem to have plenty of help but no one waits on you. Today I stood there long enough to look around and realize how dirty it was in there, especially the floor. All I wanted was ice cream, a trip down memory lane at the DQ. Won't be giving them another chance. I'm from Wisconsin anyway, I'll go to Culver's.

My friend and I stopped for lunch one day. The man behind the counter was professional and personable. They said they would bring the food to the table which they did a few minutes later, except for the shake my friend ordered. When asked about the shake the young lady said " Oh, it's up on the counter". She did not offer to retrieve it for us. To me that was very poor customer service, especially considering my friend and I are both handicapped. The restaurant was not busy. Only two other tables were seated in the dining room. It's a shame because the food was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant, but with service like that it will probably be awhile before we return.

We decided to stop for some soft serve. As soon as you walk in to this place, you may instantly decide to walk out. Place is disgustingly dirty. Place appears to never have been cleaned. Walls are gross. The employees making the ice cream was not very nice. Definitely will not return.
WOW, and DISGUSTING is all I can say about this DQ located on E. Venice Ave. here in Venice Florida. As a former restaurant owner, I have experience in operations, requirements and NO-No’s acceptable in the business.From the second you step foot into this location, you’re greeted with the putrid smell of used grease so badly, you wanna throw up. It’s grossly obvious they do not either change their oil often enough or their exhaust system has failed. My guess, both are accurate.We ordered one Blizzard and one sundae. My wife and I both observed the gentleman making our order lick his fingers twice. Never washing them while making our sundaes. This same staff member placed clean plastic spoons directly onto the counter that was covered with melted ice cream all over it. The counter top was deplorable conditions.The previously mentioned boy, as well as several other staff members working with food had very un-restrained hair, hanging freely as well as long dreadlocks. This is a violation of Serve Safe regulations.The facility was dirty, trash lying on the floor in the walkways where staff and customers alike walked. Several staff members walked past this trash multiple times, one even so much as kicking a cup, looking down at it and walking on, leaving it lie.I asked to speak to the manager. A gentleman who Coincidentally was the staff member to kick the fore-mentioned trash and keep walking. When I introduced myself, explained my background and told him his facility was DISGUSTING., And many of his staff were in violation of several Serve Safe regulations, you could tell he had no clue what I meant. He looked around like he could not understand my complaints.I get its difficult to hire staff, but hiring ones that do not understand safe food handling practices is no excuse.

Friday 8:20 PM Jan/19/24 - Walked into this place and one of the employees scream man i just cut my finger im gushing blood.. didn’t think anything of it. I get my medium sized cone and am eating it, nothing out of the ordinary, it tastes good. Until… I look at the cone and there’s numerous red spots on it!! This employees blood was literally on my cone! I threw it out immediately and ran out of that place I am disgusted. Clean your hands!
