Went for a nice dinner. It was our second visit. First visit was lovely. Went back and the hostesses were HORRIBLE. We asked for a window table indoors. I was directed that the place to request a table was “over there” . We looked around and seen a kiosk and proceeded to figure out how to sign up for a table. No assistance was offered. We sat down to wait after being told it would only be a few minutes. After waiting 20 plus minutes we got a text and went to hostess station. Hostess proceeded to tell us to follow her. After we began to follow her, she told us “sorry” and seated a gentleman that arrived after us. She came back and asked if we minded a high top. This table she pointed to was neither indoors nor by a window - it was in an area outdoors covered with a tarp. We said no we requested an indoor window table on the kiosk. She then addressed another person. After that we were told to sit back down outside and that we would have to wait, that there was nothing available and that she hadn’t spoke to us on our arrival (she was standing next to the other hostess and there was nothing available one else in the area). Both of these young ladies were very rude and derogatory in their manner as if we were a bother and they were doing us a favor. We left and will not return. Please instruct your hostesses on manners as they are the first impression people receive of your establishment.
This restaurant/bar has a nice location by a bunch of private boats. The problem was the bartender. We essentially got ignored - and they were even a little bit snitty. Truthfully - it kind of ruined the evening.
Dockside has a lovely waterside location. My friends and I were given a table with view of moored boats, on a beautiful sunny day. I ordered the boom boom wrap, with grilled shrimp. There seemed to be no sauce, and definitely nothing spicy to live up to the words boom boom. The shrimp showed no sign of being grilled, though it tasted good and fresh. I had been looking forward to something grilled and spicy, so was disappointed. My friends liked their fish and chips, though the french fries initially were cold and the friends asked for replacements. Since we were celebrating my birthday, the restaurant kindly gave me a large piece of delicious chocolate layer cake with a dollop of whipped cream. Separate little plates for sharing would have been nice. But they did supply 4 forks, so we could all eat some of the piece of cake. No obvious colds among us, so hopefully no shared germs.
Get the Grouper!!!! Grilled and blackened grouper sandwiches were both fresh (not dry) perfectly cooked, flavorful and a generous portion! We also got the tuna nachos! If you like raw tuna (sashimi) you will love it. Our waitress was friendly attentive and quick. Beautiful view, sat outside. My husband and I really enjoyed it!
Really popular and so busy restaurant in Venice Beach . The food is decent but not as good like in some other places here. The service was friendly but slow, though, with all fairness, the place was packed .
We were looking for fresh seafood and hit it at the right time. Early dinner and had some discounts on beverages. Great grouper sandwich.
Good was fresh, hot food hot, cold food cold. Unique and flavorful. Will try different menu items at our next visit to Dockside.
Being from Boston it’s hard to find good chowder and seafood. This restaurant has fish chowder that is awesome. My mom got the fish (haddock) and chips, I had the scallops both were wonderful. Our server Tiffany was so friendly, attentive and fast.
A great experience. Will definitely go back when in Venice. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Nice costal atmosphere with views of the docks. Service was over the top (our server was very perky), but efficient and attentive.
Great restaurant with amazing views! The seafood is fresh and fabulous! The staff is friendly and very helpful. Parking can be a bit tight, but definitely worth the trip!

Beautiful location and the atmosphere is very much like what you would expect and hope of a dockside/marina restaurant—certainly didn’t disappoint! There are plenty of menu options for those who want something beyond seafood (and fancy sounding seafood options as well). There were four of us dining, all of which had something different (fish and chips, BLT, ultimate chicken sandwich, pasta). Everything was fantastic. I had the pasta, linguine with chicken, wine and garlic sauce—it was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had! Our waitress was very sweet and personable. Everything about this place was amazing and we will certainly be back.
Thank you to all the staff ( especially the kitchen and Alex) our meal was great. Especially the chowder (I always the fish chowder it’s the best)
The seafood chowder is the best, fish and chips was great. We waited to get Alex as our server because he is so nice, personable. You can’t go wrong with anything you order.
Ashly or i think that was her name was a great server
If you are an adult who can't eat seafood then try somewhere else. This restaurant doesn't even offer chicken tenders. Try Waterfrontoo tor the ribs.
