Stopped in for brunch today. Our server, David, was great—we were one of his first customers a couple of years ago, and we are always happy to see him. The food is consistently good.
Update: went today and the sercice was pleasant and much faster.

Service was slow, never a great thing when you are eating out with young children. The food was okay. It appears to have taken a step down since the last time that we have visited. I hope it was just an off day. We will try again in the Off Season to see if we have any better luck.
This was our first visit to Skillets in Venice, and we had a pleasant experience overall. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and very clean, which made for a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, which we really appreciated.
As for the food, it was decent but not exceptional. The coffee tasted more like a store-bought tab brand and was a bit watered down. I had the biscuits and gravy, and unfortunately, I could taste the flour in the roux—it just was not my favorite. The food overall could have used a little more seasoning, but with salt and pepper on the table, that was easy to adjust.
The eggs, though, were cooked to absolute perfection—both my scrambled eggs and my husband’s over-easy eggs were spot-on. That was definitely the highlight of the meal.
It was an okay experience—good service, beautiful space, and a few hits and misses on the food.
Great biscuits and gravy, friendly staff, and delicious mimosa.
Great food but a bit pricey. Some of the best bacon I have probably ever eaten! Usually pretty crowded and usually a wait...but Great food and atmosphere.
This was a delightful experience. My server was fabulous and the food was pretty good!
First time at skillets, we all had the chicken pesto panini- it was so good!! Very clean, fast service, lots of tables, clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!
Great food for breakfast.
Very good selections!
I would like to say that I’ve noticed a positive change at this location in the last month. It seems there has been a change in personnel, I believe there may be a new chef in the kitchen.
The food has been substantially better. The last visit, the food was all perfectly cooked. The eggs were not dry or overdone, and the skillet potatoes were perfectly done. I just wanted to leave some great feedback for this store as I see the hard work everyone is doing to improve.
The manager Deb and all of the wait staff is very personable and always makes it a pleasant visit. We bring our two children there all the time. We have a baby girl and a seven year old with autism. We are regulars who eat at Skillets every Sunday, sometimes a couple extra times during the week. We know the entire staff by name and they know us as well. They help make our dining experience good even having the kids with us - every parent knows how valuable this is. This is a family restaurant if there ever was one. I love this location and I love the food even more now that they’ve changed things in the kitchen. It’s the people who really make the experience. Happy customer!
The food was not hot although it came out quickly. Food seemed like it was barely thawed out and warmed. Not hot, crispy, or fully cooked (potatoes). Had a biscuit that was cold served with butter that didn't melt. Skillet with warm potatoes. My partner got a sandwich with a side of potatoes....again, they were warmed and did not appear to get cooked on a skillet or flat top at any point. Our bill was something like $50...a rip off.

A pleasant breakfast, busy place but service was good. Will return
Lots of gluten free options. Very good food and excellent service.
The food was amazing and they were big portions too, the bacon and pancakes were the best I've had in a while. It wasn't too expensive either, the foods really filling. The service was also amazing too.
I've been there several times and have always had great service and great food. It's a wee noisy but that says many others agree that it's a good place to eat!

Each dish is freshly made, with a great range of flavors to suite all tastes, making the perfect way to start your day.
