T.J. Carney's is a beautiful restaurant with clean decor. The service was excellent, provided by a professional waitress. The food was delicious, but don't expect significant portions.

The service was amazing, Logan was very friendly and when I had a problem with my burger quickly handled the situation and took it off my check. The French onion soup was amazing.

First time there. Went to see some friends play on Saturday night. It was almost empty until about 8:00, then all of a sudden the place filled up. Seemed like mostly a local crowd. I was surprised by the smaller size of the place, considering they frequently have a few bigger name bands playing there. Burger and turkey wrap were both excellent. Our waiter Kyle was busy but he did keep coming back tp check on us, and did a good job. Two negative comments. Although I thought the food prices were very reasonable, the drinks were a little pricey. $6 for a beer, $4 for a tea, and $14 for a martini. Also, the men's room was disgusting. It smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in a week or so. The smell was permeating down the hallway, and I'm sure the back two or three tables could smell it.

Great Experience at TJ Carneys! Stopped in with a beer with my Dad, had fast and friendly service. Tried the Red Snapper on their Early Bird Dinners menu, fish was cooked perfectly! Will definitley be returning.

On Friday May 6, 2025 at 415 pm, we went to Carney's to enjoy their Happy Hour. The Happy Hour is in the Bar area that includes 2 booths and several bar stools at the Bar.The booths were occupied but their were stools available at the Bar. I am Handicapped and can't get up on stools. We asked the Hostess if we could sit a regular table and enjoy the Happy Hour prices because of my condition. The Hostess went to ask the manager and brought 2 more people to talk to us. They said they could not accommodate me even though there were several tables available.

We always sit outside where we can still talk.Enjoy being outdoors and still here all the music playing.

Stopped in after a show in the park. Quiet Thursday evening. Sat inside. Huge place. True pub feel. Nice selection of brew.
Had a Harp tap & ordered the nachos to share. Too late for a meal. Unique way they serve the nachos. The chips & the toppings separate, ground beef, cheese, salsa & jalapeños. Not a fan. (Nachos in an Irish pub)
Will be back for the ethnic grub.

Worst ever. They squeeze people in there huge fire hazard. And they act like they are doing you a favor to be in there If you dare go, be prepared to wait forever just to get a drink. Money hungry. Staff is so rude. My guess is because they are over worked. Impossible to serve that many people!

Some of the worst greediness in business I’ve seen in a long time. I’m a year round resident of Venice, FL. Today, St Patrick’s Day, I got dressed up in a long, pretty green dress and took my lunch hour off work to go enjoy an Irish lunch at T.J. Carneys. I take two steps in and was physically blocked by a man’s arm who I thought was joking and then all joking aside, said, “Do you have a stamp?”. No, I said. “Well, it’s a $10 cover charge.” I said, “Even just for lunch?”. I sighed and acquiesced, and said “I have a card, who can I pay?” He said, “Sorry, cash only!” I said, “You’re kidding?”. I was miffed and as I walked out muttered, “that’s ridiculous”. I heard him scream, “Only on St. Patrick’s Day!”. Like somehow that was supposed to make it better. Restaurants pulling this BS nonsense on holidays at a local joint is ridiculous. Nice job ripping off tourists and pissing off residents, TJ Carneys! DO BETTER. Oh and, Venice Fire Department- why don’t you go see if they’re are violating fire codes with the number of people piled up in there.

Very disappointed, made reservations for dinner and a show a week in advance and we were seated in front of the bathrooms, staff and Manager did nothing to make us comfortable and able to see the band play.

We were at the Venice Art Festival today and decided to stop here and have a drink and some lunch. It was pretty crowded and I told my husband I would go in and put us on the list for a table. There was an old red haired lady at the desk and I told her I wanted a table for two outside. She asked where the person was that I was with. I told her he was waiting outside. She started to take me to a table and again asked where the other person was. I told her he was outside. When we got to the table she said, "well where is he" By this time he was right beside me. I said he's right here. She left and the waitress came and took our order. We ordered a Bloody Mary. It was not good. Onion soup was good. Fish and chips was just OK. The waitress brought our check and I got the credit card out right away but she didn't take it. She went on to other tables. We were finishing our drinks and here comes the old red haired lady. She starts picking up our drinks and tells us we need to go because she has other people waiting. I told her I was waiting to pay my bill and she stormed off. The waitress passed our table three times after that and never picked up the card to pay for the meal. I finally went inside and asked for the manager told her what happened and paid my bill. This is why we don't go out much. I work hard for my money and times are tough. I certainly don't expect to be treated like that. I won't go there again.

We went for the Halloween party. The band was incredible and the vibes were there. Definitely recommend this place if they’re doing events or not. The food smelled wonderful for the guests still ordering. The drinks were great and the employees were patient and kind.

We just came back from TJ Carneys. I am so disappointed. We sat down and ordered from the modified Venice ART Show menu. We ordered ice water to drink, my wife had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and I had the Fried Chicken sandwich.
We began to drink the water and about gagged. It tasted like sea water. It made me nauseous. When the waitress came back we told her about the issue. She nonchalantly stated that other customers have brought up the issue before. She stated even after we filter it. We asked for bottled water and she brought it. We received our food and as she is handing my wife her salad she notices there is no chicken on it. So she took it back. Five minutes later she returns with the salad with chicken on it. I began to eat my sandwich and I noticed that it tasted like fish. Seriously like fish. My wife and I summarized that they cooked the chicken with the same oil they cook fish with. When I got the bill I was very surprised at the cost.
$2.50 per bottle of water, plastic … Sam’s Club. They know they have bad water but it makes more $cents to not fix the issue. I guess I’ll make a call to the health inspectors and see what they have to say…
