I ordered a large Margarita Pizza and an order of meatballs. The pizza had little or no sauce on it and they dropped a few leaves of basil on top. The crust tasted like cardboard and overall the pizza was BAD. I ended up throwing it out as I only treat myself to carbs X2 a year and plan to try another restaurant in Sarasota. What a disappointment. I know good pizza as I am from NYC. Saving grace was the meatballs they were good. My recommendation, avoid unless you like cardboard.

The best pizza I have had in my life. Great service, fast and the outdoor heaters kept us nice and warm. Will be back the next time we are in town!

We didn’t order the pizza, so we may have missed the best part of this restaurant. What we did order was not authentic Italian food by any means. My wife and I are both Italian and we have been to dozens of Italian restaurants all over the world, especially in Italy. My wife had the Caprese appetizer. The tomatoes were not close to ripe and the mozzarella was tough and chewy and had seen its better days. The meatball appetizer, on the other hand, was pretty good. I had a “tuna and bean” salad. The salad was just a bunch of fresh greens with a can of tuna and a few spoonfuls of beans dumped on top. The “Pasta Fagiole” soup had ditalini pasta in it and it did have some beans, but other than that, it bore no resemblance to pasta fagiole at all. This place seems to be a nice little pizzeria, but not the best Italian food in Venice (as was described in other reviews) by a long shot.

Delicious is the first word that comes to mind about Trattoria Da Mino. It's a small restaurant in beautiful downtown Venice with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered a pizza and the Chicken Marsala. The bread the served before the meal was warm and delicious with what tasted like olive oil and salt drizzled on top. The pizza was probably the best and freshest I've had in years. The chicken marsala was yummy, also. We almost returned on the second night of our trip because we enjoyed it so much. The wait staff was very attentive and worked together as a team. We will return the next time we're in town.

This was by far the best food and the best, cozy and friendly experience here in Venice.  You can really tell that this place is being run by an "Italiano vero", Mino. The first time we got here just half an hour before closing on a Sunday night. What I thought would be a decent rejection of service because we arrived so late, turned into a perfect (and quick) dinner. Owen greeted us with a smile and immediately pulled a few chairs for us.  Quickly after that, a guy in his late 60s came in and my mother-in-law says to me: "most likely that's the owner. He looks italian and you should have a word with him, as you speak italian". As I didn't want to intrude, I said pass for the moment. But just a few minutes later, Mino just stopped by our table to say Hi and introduce himself. Just by doing that and I realized my mother-in-law was right. He is an italiano vero. We quickly exchanged a few words in italian.  That moment we found out that he comes in every morning to prepare the food each day. He uses most of the ingredients from his farm and boy you can feel the difference. The best Carbonara, lasagna, pizza Capriciosa,  homemade Tiramisu and Kimbo espresso.   If you've ever been to Italy, Corsica or Sardenia, you should know what to look for in Italian cuisine. Well, at least in what Venice is concerned, you should look no further.  I actually told my mother-in-law as soon as we got inside that by the looks of it, the food in this location should be very good and I was right.  I'd you're in Venice or even just driving by, your making a big mistake by not stopping to try this.  Mino, it was a real pleasure meeting you! You remind me of my friend that passed away in 2025, Pietro Colaiacomo.

Been here before. They have more seating outside than they do inside as it is a very small restaurant. Reservations are mandatory for this reason. I can tell they have a lot of repeat customers. The service is pretty good. I never got a drink refill, but otherwise I have no complaints. I had the spaghetti carbonara, it was rich and had a lot of flavor.

It was our first time with our family in Venice Fl, and it was around 5pm and decided to go with our family for a walk and a bite to eat. We walked by this restaurant and asked to be seated and the host Andrew said there was no room for a family of 5 and a baby, it was going to take 30 minutes. I said what about inside… he said I TOLD YOU, 30 minutes with an attitude.

So we waited patiently to be seated. After a while no tables were getting up, so I went inside to place the order to go. To my amazement there was a table available inside this whole time!!!! I was like you have to be kidding me! We have been out there like 25 minutes under the sun and you had a table!!!! My pregnant wife went in to use the bathroom and the same rude host Andrew told her, who are you with? Well she was sitting in front of him on a bench for the last 25 minutes waiting for you to sit us.

I don’t usually write these kind of reviews, but if you could please avoid this place because of the rudeness of this host you could enjoy your meal anyplace else.

I think this host, has an issue with people and thinks of himself way above others, there was a really sweet and kind manager inside and she did help us place our to go order. I did speak to her and told her this person needs to be removed as he has no clue what the service industry means. This is not a club or a private venue, these are hungry families that want to enjoy a slice of pizza! The food was ok, not worth the wait or the mistreatment.

Sorry but the place has slipped the past few years. Veal scallopini came in a puddle of water and was tasteless plain meat with a few capers on top. Broccoli with a little cheese on top. Stale bread and a plastic container with some diced tomatoes. Our waitress couldn't remember anything we said. Walk up the street and eat real Italian. We will.

Sorry to post but seven of us had tasteless meals. No one commented until we left. The meals had zero flavor. Enjoyed this restaurant when it first opened.

Food highlights and lowlights, pesto pasta very good, add shrimp and u r in business. Lasagne also very good. I'm a fan of thick layers of ricotta beef n sausage but this was thinner maybe richer version due to the use of bechamel. Fungi pasta can b skipped. Charge me xtra for truffles for flavor truffle oil sucks and easily ruins a happy mouth unless used with great restraint. They forgot my pasta e fagiole soup so can't comment on that. The bruschetta topping with the bread was welcome but I doctored when I got it home, lots of torn basil chopped garlic and evoo. The alicea (white sardines) amazing and added much needed punch to the ceasar. They put those on top of the Lasagne tho which heated them up. I've only had them marinated and chilled so when chilled in fridge they were much better Would definitely apply lessons learned and go back. Megan was great

Service- Jesse was a great server on Tuesday night and greeted us the following evening with a big smile and a hug; Marlon was our server Wednesday night and was so gracious, knowledgeable and polite, and repeatedly thanked us for our visit. When we made reservations on Tuesday night for Wednesday night, my husband jokingly asked the hostess to put Miller Lite next to our name- when we arrived for our reservation Wednesday and the young host showed us to our table, he said, "And I'll be right back with your Miller Lite"--and he was! Husband loved it!!! Roberto (or Ricardo, husband not sure) wears a black cap and he was amazing to watch both nights - he was everywhere- setting tables; greeting guests; clearing dishes; thanking guests as they left and doing it all with a big smile- truly an astonishing employee. All five stars.

Food - pasta - pappardelle with walnut mushrooms was delicious (really!), and my husband thought the same of his shrimp scampi. Five stars.

Pizza/calzone - The medium mushroom and roni pizza the night prior was very good- BUT there is NO reason that a topping for a 12-14" pizza should be $5+ each - the two toppings were almost as much as the plain pizza. Calzone - very, very good. Four stars only because of add-on topping price!!

Soups - minestrone was a lil bland and had no pasta in it (a standard ingredient in almost all recipes); and the pasta fagioli, which did thankfully have pasta and beans, was also a lil bland. Three stars.

Dessert - tiramisu was wonderful, even when eating the saved half portion for breakfast this morning! Five stars.

All in all - great few nights there and will definitely return and know what (and who!) to ask for!

First of all, the service was horrible! Our waitress didn't give us straws with our drinks and when we asked for straws she acknowledged and said ok but instead of getting the straws she headed straight to another table and totally forgot about our request for straws. Then the salad came with a serving of sliced bread. None of the salad came with the dressing we ordered. She never came back to our table so we had to ask another waitress for our salad dressing. When we're finished with our salad and the bread, she took our bowls and promised to bring more bread as we're still waiting for our main meals. She never came back with the bread even after our meals were brought out. I ordered Vegana, which was listed as one of their signature dishes, and described as penne with roasted zucchini, eggplant, broccoli and olive oil and garlic. This main course "signature" dish was a total disappointment. It was so bad and tasteless. It was basically pre-boiled penne with steamed vegetables, they were not grilled, and that's it. Absolutely no flavor at all because there's no olive oil that was supposedly spiced and cooked with roasted garlic. No oil. No garlic. No roasting. No grilling. Not even salt in the flavor. I was too hungry and impatient at that point, I just ate what I could. The waitress only came to check on us at the very end after I basically stopped eating halfway, in full disgust, and couldn't touch it anymore. I was left speechless, couldn't wait to leave fast enough, expressed my total disappointment only in the form of tip I left on the table. It's really beyond help. No complaint from me could improve the situation. And I didn't want to make a scene in front of the person I was with at the time.

Trattoria Da Mino offers a delightful Italian dining experience. The pasta dishes are flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the service is attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a meal with friends or family. Highly recommend!

I beg to differ on your great reviews. The only thing that was authentic Italian was the MUSIC.
The bread arrived tasteless, boring and borderline stale.
Chose the lunch special Soup Salad & 1/2 Lasagna $20
The plate presentation was ridiculous causing soup to spill, salad was warm and the lasagna was served in a crockpot. Comical to say the least.
Soup was the worst minestrone I have ever had. You might as well poured vegetable stock with some chopped carrots celery & onion in a soup bowl.
SERVICE WAS GOOD 😊 she kindly offered to replace my meal.

I went there yesterday with my wife while visiting Venice Florida. I don’t know how this place has such good reviews because honestly the food is not good, ESPECIALLY the pizza! Ordered a 12” supreme pizza and it was the worse pizza I’ve ever had and not even close! Soggy in the middle where you couldn’t even pick up a slice, the sausage had a funny taste which was very unpleasant. The service wasn’t any better either, forgot our drinks, never offered or gave my wife bread with her meal. Terrible from start to finish. Would advise against eating there I’m sure there’s better options
