Review from May 12, 2024. Cute quaint little place to have a stellar cup of coffee. Has a good choice of items to eat. To my surprise - the owners are from West Virginia (the state that I moved from). Which added to (my) overall experience to the place. A must for anyone down in the Venice area!

My pup Nugget and enjoy the whole experience at least 3 times a week. Great laid back atmosphere . The food is great. Quiche is my favorite. Bailey and family make you feel at home.

How to describe how special the energy is in this coffee shop? I’ll try, but you should really just go in and find out for yourself. The menu, the pastries, and the coffee selection are all phenomenal. I’m kind of a bean guy, and they use the primo stuff for their espressos and cappuccinos. My favorite drink is the iced matcha latte (try it with coconut milk for just a touch of sweetness and oat milk for that full-earth flavor). They get the powder at a local herb shop just around the corner. But enough about the menu, let’s get down to what makes this place truly special- the energy and the people. It has all the familiar charms of a bustling coffee shop, but if you’re lucky enough to walk in during a break in the rush (late mornings to early afternoons), you might get to chat with one of the exquisite people that work there. Bailey and Jaden not only are top-notch baristas and servers, but they try to actually get to know you and you can tell they truly care. This is because the owner Corey has created such a wonderful working atmosphere for his employees, that their love for the place is transferred to you. I love to go there and sit on the couch and read/write for hours because I am so comfortable. I always make sure to leave an extra fat tip because breakfast servers don’t make as much with items priced so low. Whether you’re catching up with an old friend over breakfast, getting a coffee to go, or just chilling on your morning down time, you can feel this is just one of those rare places because of its special energy.

Was very disappointed with the atmosphere, it’s very pieced together and looks old and worn. We had to flag someone down to get a refill on our coffees, and after we told them they never came back. I had to get up and go find another employee, that was just standing there talking to another employee, if they could come and give us the refill we had asked for. Food wasn’t bad, but very average. I was just disappointed with the whole experience as I would expect way more from a café on the main corner of beautiful downtown Venice.

I typically don’t like scones, but these are amazing. I had the mixed berry/cream cheese and the raspberry/ white chocolate. Both were hands down the best scones I’ve ever had. And bonus they have lavender coffee.

1 medium regular coffee to go cost $5. Rediculous.

......And as you can see by their response they have zero remorse. I have been to coffee shops around the country. NY, CA HI, AK, ME. The size was a medium and I used (not fresh) little plastic creamers. Which living near the beach you would think they would cut down on plastic. Its not a matter of what the competition is doing, its a matter of do you want to rip off your guests and make profits over people. That is corporate and I dont believe "shopping local" mentality is supposed to follow corporate profit and greed rules. Bottom line, I have been in service industry my entire life and owned my own shop for 28 years. I would feel horrible ripping of my clients for a buck or 2. The service was slow, they walked right by dirty plates as the rushed me in the door because they were soley focused on themselves rather than being friendly and doing their jobs. They completely ignored us like a bad bartender. Attitude. Their opinion of their shop is over inflated and does remind us of a corporate place run by robots and driven by profits. They take zero responsibility and defend til the end. This is Fla and this is America atm. Imho. No excuses.

My all-time FAVORITE coffee in the area! I don't require gluten free but I love their gluten free orange cranberry muffins. I had a favorite coffee place in Manhattan and every time I drink their cappuccino it takes me right back there. It's perfect.

Place feels more like a home than some other restaurant. I missed having a muffin that was grilled and buttered and now I found my place for it

Pretty unbelievable! After seated it took 10 minutes just to take my order. Ordered a muffin with coffee because I thought it would be quicker. 15 minutes in coffee and muffin come. Asked for it heated, no problem server took back. 30 minutes in a different server asked if I needed help. I said I never got the muffin. She said sorry and brought me something different than what I originally ordered. I said no problem I’ll just pay for the coffee. Thats when the owner appeared. I told him that I had waited over 30 minutes and that’s when he became confrontational. Asked to step outside and proceeded to tell me, imagine if when you came in and 40 other people ordered a muffin and coffee at the same time. Well that told me right away what I was dealing with. I explained that rationale was ridiculous. Then in a heated voice asked me to leave.
Just can’t believe a customer would be treated like this.

In response to the owners reply... Don't worry I won't return. I typically don't have 30 minutes for a cup of coffee. By the way. In the restaurant everything was fine and the heated discussion only happened after you told me to go outside to talk. and it was there that you were more aggressive. It has to be a pretty bad thing for me to take the time to write a review in the first place. I have never had an owner treat me like this.

The service is very slow.. the food isn't worth the wait, my order came out wrong after which the guy in the kitchen decided to come out with the same dish claiming it was remade.

Only this this place really has going for it is the owner's daughter keeps things moving when she's there. I want so much to like this little local place. I've given it multiple tries hoping my experience would be better....

This is one of my favorite island stops! My Dad loves their coffee and I'm obsessed with their muffins (the orange cranberry is SO top shelf)! They even have gluten free muffins and they're as good as their gluten muffins.

Their plated food is *chef's kiss* comforting and the portions are generous. The decor is cute and even when filled with people it's not that loud.

Friendly staff! Order the new Ava’s crispy croissant it’s very good. The building and furniture inside is typical for a small diner. Good spot.
