It is closed, out of business. BP is open
Our food was fine and the service was good. Our wait staff was very pleasant. No real complaints about the food other than the bacon wasn't cooked enough. I don't care for eating on paper plates so we probably won't go back. A customer went unmasked into the food prep area while they were preparing our food which I was not thrilled with.
The website said they opened at 8 but the lettering on the door said 9. It was 9. Paper plates are not especially good for breakfast. Only one slice of toast. I am still looking for a breakfast place in Vero.
We have been coming back to this small restaurant ever since it opened few years ago, and we are never disappointed. We no longer live in Vero Beach, but we try to make it a point to visit this place whenever we are in the area. I ordered an Egg Salad Sandwich, and my wife ordered a Rueben Melt. We both enjoyed a tall glass of Freshly Brewed Ice Tea. Our meals were excellent.
They do the food at the museum cafe. Had a wonderful chicken veggie soup with dill and a turkey sandwich. Great service.
'Start-up' soup 'n sandwich (only) shop in a remote strip mall. Staff is trying hard in this new venture. Everything is fresh and they are keeping it simple. It is definitely 'low budget' ... not a place to take a date but perhaps a pleasant 'hang out.' try it, it might fit into your niche or carry-out..
Looking for breakfast, I decided to try Wood n Spoon based on the TripAdvisor reviews. But, I failed to look at all the clues. My first clue should have been the restaurant location, Oslo Road and 20th street in Vero. The second clue was also the location, and old strip mall. The final clue was the restaurants interior filled with odd chairs and tables provided a tired and uninviting ambience. The restaurants interior has an odd layout. I grabbed the first dirty table and waited for the waitress to wipe it down. Our waitress offered us coffee and menus. I decided to make my own Omelet with ham, mushrooms, onions, and cheddar cheese with grits, and toast. My husband ordered the Irish Corned Beef Drunken Benedict with potatoes. While the restaurant wasn’t overly busy there seemed to be lots of confusion with staff running in and out the front door with food and supplies for another events. Our food: The first thing you need to understand is Wood n Spoon is a deli disguised as a restaurant. My Omelet was so over-cooked I had visions of “rubber chickens.” The ham was deli meat roughly. Chopped and served with equally over cooked onions, a few slices of mushroom, and a little Cheddar cheese. My toast was cold and dry. To my surprise, the grits were good! The best that can be said about the Irish Corned Beef Drunken Benedict is...interesting. The deli meat took everything in the wrong direction as far as breakfast was concerned. Wood n Spoon might be a better choice for lunch, but I have my doubts. The restaurant fails on so many levels of acceptable food and service. Two waitresses left with boxes, bags, and supplies for another event, so service became almost non-existent. The food delivered to a near by table had the same rubber omelet with burnt toast! If your looking for breakfast, go somewhere else. McDonalds would be an improvement. I can’t explain the reviews on TripAdvisor. I can say our experience was bad and I don’t believe it was out of the ordinary for Wood n Spoon. I give Wood n Spoon a Thumbs down!
Four of us had lunch here twice - really enjoyed the fresh, delicious homemade offerings! The staff was welcoming and attentive (Anna was awesome) and great attention was given to the need for safe gluten free food due to Celiac. I highly recommend Wood N Spoon and would definitely go back.
Amazing tacos! Highly recommend!!
Food is consistently good. We've gone there for breakfast and lunch. Everything has been delicious. Homemade soups are great. I like getting 1/2 a sandwich and soup and being able to choose any sandwich I want. Omelettes are also very good. You can also just stop in if you are having an ice cream craving.
