10min and our order was ready! One Grouper Reuben, Lobster Roll, onion rings, and 2 Mac & cheese was $73, which was a lot for a sandwich take out IMO, but it tasted good and quicker than expected. Is there not a website? Used a menu found in other reviews.

After years of people saying to go here I finally went. I ordered the "Crispy Grouper Sandwich". What a disappointment. 24.95 for a small sandwich and french fries. Outrageous!!! I don't want to hear anything about the economy. This sandwich is poorly made and presented. The Gordon's Fishermen could have done a better job. You could definitely taste that the fish was frozen for a while. There is no way this fish was not produced at a plant somewhere. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I wish I would have read the recent reviews before I went. Red Onion please do better!

Ordered a lobster roll, did not come with drawing butter, and unfortunately it was very skimpy hardly any lobster compared to the ones in te tables around , it seems like they don’t have a set portion.?

Our friend recommended Red Onion for the food QUALITY. He was right. Lots of places to eat by the beach, but the quality of the food really shines here. Did I mention the quality? We had the omelet w/bacon and the blueberry pancakes. Superb!

Unfortunately, its under new management and the new owners changed the crunchy grouper(their signature sandwich) we've been coming here regularly for over 10 yrs. Would bring all our family and friends here to try their crunchy grouper. It was always such a big hit until now. The new owners changed it and it taste horrible now. We thought it wAs a fluke the 1st time so came back a 2nd time and sure enough it wasn't a fluke, it was horrible. So We haven't returned since then and no longer recommend it to anyone. Its very unfortunate, such a delicious unique sandwich that people would come from all over just to eat. Why would the new owners change such perfection and loose so much business? Very very sad when new owners come in and change things that were perfectly great and make it horrible. Bad for business.

I got the red onion sandwich, it’s impeccable. The fries are well seasoned. I did takeout and the food was still hot and had a good texture when I got home! Great location. I will be coming back!

12/7/23 - While on our annual trip to Vero Beach, FL to celebrate our yearly anniversary at the Historic Driftwood Inn, we stumbled upon a lunch gem, The Red Onion Café & Eatery! The fare consists of artistically crafted soups, sandwiches and salads that are fantastic. A must try is the Bruschetta Sandwich and the Vanilla Thrill Spinach Salad. And, to top it all off, the home made Moist Brownie with Chocolate icing was incredible. In a town of pricey restaurants, the value at The Red Onion is outstanding. We are going back for lunch tomorrow!Kid-friendliness: Cashier and server -can't remember her name, sorry.

Grouper Reubin was very greasy. I guess that's why they bring you a wet nap with your meal!

I been here few times and they have decent variety of sandwiches. They also have a couple outside tables. On the pricey side but most places are on Ocean Avenue.

The Grouper Reuben was absolutely stunning and perfectly crisp while tender inside. One of the best sandwiches I've had in years. The food came out so quickly too. This is definitely a restaurant I'd visit town for. Thanks for the great recommendation on which sandwiches we should get too!
