The food was absolutely outstanding! The drink prices were a bit on the higher side, but the overall dining experience was stylish and modern. The atmosphere can get somewhat noisy due to conversations carrying throughout the space, though that seems typical for newer, trendy restaurants that lack much sound absorbing materials.
We were very excited to eat at Fern and though the food was good, unfortunately the experience fell a bit short of our expectations. We ordered the mushrooms and squash blossoms as small plates, which were wonderful, and the swordfish loin and short rib as entrees. The food was solid, but the short rib was a bit overcooked. We ordered fairly standard cocktails (a martini and an old fashioned) and the martini wasn't made well-it was very watery- and we found ourselves waiting...
This is a great place for great food if you don't need to have a conversation with anyone. The noise level is much more than energetic. It is beyond your imagination of how loud it is. I would go back, but NEVER eat inside. So sad that really top notch food is served in such a LOUD environment.
