I visited this restaurant on my way to Tampa and was seated at the bar. After placing my order, I waited for nearly an hour without receiving my food or even a single acknowledgment from the staff for the VERY LONG DELAY.

When I requested that my order be packaged to go, there was still no apology or explanation offered for the poor service. I was so taken aback by their poor service that I didn’t even care for the food anymore.

Being busy should never be an excuse for such unprofessionalism and awful service. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I visited this restaurant with my mom, and honestly, there wasn’t much to brag about. The food was pretty mediocre, and the service matched. Even though the place was nearly empty, we still had to wait while the waitress finished her conversation with another server before we could even get her attention. The food did come out quickly, but nothing stood out as amazing or memorable. Overall, it was just okay, and not somewhere we’d plan to return.

The food was good, but it was kind of pricey for what you get.

Portside is the perfect after church brunch location! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had the shrimp and grits and my partner had the chicken and waffles. We were both well pleased with how everything tasted. My favorite part - having so many hot sauce options. Most places usually have just tabasco and maybe one other. Not Portside; they had a whole shelf of options! This was our first time there and do plan to visit again!

My husband and I where out and about and wanted a yummy breakfast we spotted this restaurant and tried it. There was no wait time and we loved our waitress she was very attentive . We both tried omelette and it tasted so good ! But my favorite was the French toast with banana! Woah! I recommend this place !

The blueberry French toast casserole was phenomenal. Not too sweet and almost like a bread pudding. The Loxahatchee Benny was also amazing and is the perfect combo of sausage biscuits and gravy and eggs benny. The waitress was also super kind and helpful. I will be back!

Portside is my go-to for breakfast or lunch in Royal Palm Beach. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. You can tell they really care about quality. Highly recommend if you're looking for a solid spot!

My new favorite brunch spot. My cousin and I tried here after she found it on TikTok. I’ve been back about four to five times since then LOL. This is such a hidden gem. I’m happy though because I want it to myself. Every time the service is really great and the food is sooo good. The portions are big and you’ll leave stuffed. I’ve tried the lemon beignets, French toast casserole, pancakes, eggs, and bacon. They have a lot of other options that I haven’t tried yet and will try in the future.

⭐️⭐️ Review for Portside Café – Visit on 07/26/2025

We visited Portside Café this past Saturday as a group of four (we’re usually a group of 5–6 friends). When we arrived, there were clearly empty tables available — including one for eight and another for six. We completely understand that those may be reserved for larger parties, and we respect that.

However, the way the waitress with dark hair in a ponytail spoke to us was unnecessarily rude. She bluntly told us that the table “wasn’t for us” and asked us to wait outside in the heat. We are elderly, and I have a disability that makes standing or being in the sun extremely difficult. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes, even though the tables remained empty and the restaurant began to clear out during breakfast. Her attitude felt more about proving a point than offering any real hospitality.

Once we were finally seated, our actual server was kind, polite, and helpful — and the food, as always, was excellent. We’ve had many great experiences here in the past, and the service is usually very good. But the way we were treated when we arrived was disappointing and did not reflect the welcoming atmosphere we’ve come to expect from Portside.

We hope this was just an off day, but it’s something we feel management should be aware of.

However, our waitress is blind. She’s always such a sweetheart. Does a great job so the service on her end was excellent by the way, waitress with the dark hair and ponytail. Was very nasty.

The food and service was excellent! Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy, and the classic Benny, best I’ve ever had. The classic Benny comes with hollandaise sauce but I’m diabetic so I always get it without hollandaise. Look forward to eating their again. If you’re looking for delicious, homemade food, go to Portside Breakfast & Lunch.

We order through food delivery (Uber Eats) and although the food is overall good they describe the Belgium waffle as coming with vanilla whipped cream and they won’t deliver it that way. Also the grits are very heavily seasoned with pepper which is fine if you like a lot of black pepper but not great if you don’t.

Great place for brunch!
