Bruno's Oysters

My wife and I went to Bruno's Oysters yesterday (7/12/25) and we were very disappointed and we will never go back again and will never recommend this place to anyone. The menu looked good and we were eager to go there. First walking in I liked the old rustic look and atmosphere as part of the Plant St Market Place in Winter Garden, FL. As I walked in looking around I did not see a kitchen or door leading to a kitchen, just an interesting thought, and we just picked a table and sat down. Nobody greeted us when we came in, it was just help yourself. We sat down and looked around wondering what do we do now. There were about 4 employees standing behind the bar and a counter, one with his phone in his face, where the oysters were on display. Nobody looked at us or came over to our table with menus. So I got up and walked over to the oyster counter and asked, can we have a menu and how do we order? I was told here. I asked about the oysters which look good on display. We ordered 6 raw oysters, the 6 roasted oysters, the lobster roll and the bone marrow. Now I have seen bone marrow many times on TV shows but never tasted it, so we wanted to try this. Just a note here, behind the oyster counter was a toaster oven, that was the kitchen we learned later. All the hot dishes were cooked in the toaster oven.

Now on to the foods. The oysters were good and looked fresh, but at $42.00 a dozen, they did not taste that good. The lobster roll was tasty but was small and looked like only half a lobster was used to make it and this was $23.00. The 6 roasted oysters were good tasting but very small and was $22.00. The roasted bone marrow then came and the server apologized for taking so long because they can only cook one thing at a time in the toasted oven he said. Never having bone marrow, I know from watching TV that you scooped out the center part which is the marrow and eat that. I was confused because looking, I only saw what looked like a black goo inside. I took my spoon and started scraping the inside of the bone. All I got was about 1/2 teaspoon of this black goo out of the whole bone. I tasted it and it was bad. Both of the bones we got were like that and this was $18.00. I should have complained right then, but we do not like conflict and I would just write a review on all this.

This was our experience eating at Bruno's Oysters on Plant St. We live within walking distant of Plant St and as locals we will never go back there.

Smoking allowed at outdoor tables, this is the last time I visit this place. Really shitty of you guys to let people smoke around KIDS.

Didn’t have a chance to taste the food I ordered. Several customers came after we’re served went back told me he forgot about my order. Proceeded to take care of other customers just asked for a refund.

Phenomenal Oysters, great service and atmosphere. The food was amazing. We had a great time, will definitely be coming back for the Wednesdays $2 oysters happy hour.

Ive been here 4 or 5 times as I get something with the very good beer in the barrell room at a plant street market… we were there about 4pm- 5pm and it was pretty quiet… I place an order for a lobster roll, paid and waited for two staff members not busy at all, they put bread in toaster and I went to sit back down and enjoy family and beer… after about 15 maybe 20 minutes I walked back up to counter and asked the guy where my sandwich was, he made that oh I forgot look on his face, didn’t apologize, nothing and checked in the toasted bun and he and his partner put the preportiined lobster mix into the bun and his partner went to back room for chips and brought them out, opened a bag and poured into basket…that took them another 5-10 minutes to put together and hand to me- again not saying sorry or thanks for waiting, , etc… anything…
This has happened now to me twice- the first time I had ever tried their oysters, and now this time- which will be my last time ever.
Oysters are good
Sandwich - not worth it either
Service - lazy with little hospitality

Zack and Lauren (pretty sure that’s her name) were phenomenal!!! Quick and CLEAN shucked oysters along with a delicious selection and amazing recommendations. Lauren was on point with the cleanliness of the bar and guest service. Pricess a bit high, but ya get what you pay for.

Please tell the customer that the oyster ordered is not available before charging and replacing with a different oyster.

Fantastic oysters. Great space, hidden in plain sight. Oysters and menu remind me of my experiences in the Cape & New England.

I was excited to have an oyster bar in downtown Winter Garden. I had delicious oysters on the half shell in Charleston a few days before. Disappointment quickly set in after asking for plump, juicy oysters on the sweeter side. I was served the smallest, perhaps around 1inch x 2 inches oysters that had a harsh brine. They had yellow streaks underneath them. I have never met an oyster on the half shell that I could not eat. I left them on the platter because they were so bad. This is the first time I have ever left an oyster on the half shell. Cute place‼️

Oh yeah Oysters flown in fresh daily right next to Bourbon barrel beers.What more could you want??I definitely need to add some pictures to this

Kid-friendliness: There's enough kids running around outside. Keep them out of this part of the bar ?

Food is amazing. But this is not where I want to focus this review’s attention. The service, skill and patience of the two young men were so admirable. Thank you both for the hard work, dealing with drunk difficult customers during the music festival, and the excellent service you provided to us with all through it all. We can’t wait to come back.

Best oysters ever, chef Bruno has a great variety of oysters. Very fresh, the service was excellent. The price was good and the staff is awesome.
