Quick review of Norigami’s “More Omakase” experience!

Secured a last minute reservation at Norigami in Winter Garden last night. Decided to order the Toro Carpaccio and the More Omakase experience! The More Omakase lineup includes 14 pieces of beautiful sushi, one hand roll, and one soup! At $110, this is arguably one of the best bang for your buck omakase experiences I’ve ever had personally especially considering the amount of quality pieces you get. And that Toro Carpaccio is one of the best bites I’ve had during my time in Orlando! This place is unreal and I highly recommend trying to secure a reservation ASAP! There are only eight seats available and reservations go quickly!

Shoutout to Chef David and Chef Austin for all of their hard work and dedication to crushing it!

P.S. The dude sitting next to me came all the way from San Diego just to eat at Norigami and Sticky Rice lol! He was RAVING about how great the sushi was! It’s great to see people coming from all over to try it!

An Unforgettable First Omakase Experience – Perfect for a Birthday Celebration!

I chose Norigami to celebrate my birthday—my first-ever omakase experience and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment I sat down, the intimate counter seating and the chef’s quiet confidence signaled I was in for something extraordinary.

Every piece of nigiri and hand roll was a masterclass in balance and freshness. The chef’s expertise shone through in buttery toro (fatty tuna), sweet colossal shrimp (my absolute favorite!), and perfectly seasoned rice that complemented each topping without overpowering it. The More-Omakase offering delivered an exciting variety, with each bite offering new textures and flavors to discover.

Beyond the food, the rhythm of the meal was flawless as courses arrived at just the right pace, and the chef’s explanations added depth to the experience. The attention to detail, from presentation to hospitality, made it clear this was more than a meal; it was culinary theater.

For first-timers or sushi connoisseurs alike, Norigami is a must-visit. As a birthday treat, it was perfection—and as a shrimp lover, I’m already dreaming of that colossal bite. I’ll absolutely be back!

Overall great omakasi for the price! My only complaint was the shrimp texture was a bit off; was a bit chewy and didn’t taste too fresh. The rest of the nigiri was good, even the uni which tasted fresh and flavorful. It’s not the best omakase I’ve had but it’s hard to beat $70 dollars for 10 pieces, a handroll and soup.

EXPENSIVE! But, worth it! We got the More Omakase and wow, I see why they got the bib gourmand. Four stars for atmosphere only because it's a food hall and the smell of popcorn next door was out of place. Wonderful, attentive service. Reservation was only a week out so not too bad, I don't think you can pull off a walk up seating. Certainly worth the drive (1 hr, in the rain) for us.

Yesterday, for the third time, I dined at Origami. This is truly one of the most authentic Japanese spots in Orlando. The quality of the fish they use and the flavors they deliver are just outstanding. The fish is incredibly fresh. Having been a sushi chef myself, I can honestly say that their commitment to quality is remarkable — and it’s no surprise they’ve earned a Michelin mention. Yesterday we enjoyed a set of nigiri and a tuna bowl, both of which were absolutely delicious. I’ve also had the opportunity to experience their full omakase, and it has never disappointed me. I highly recommend this place with my eyes closed. Go whenever you can — and on top of everything, it’s not expensive at all considering the quality they offer.

One of the best omakase experiences I’ve had in Florida. For $68, you get 10 courses and a miso soup. My friend got tier 2 more omakase option where you get 14 courses for $108. The fish was really fresh and some of the cuts were flown in from Japan. My friends and I weren’t fans of the mustard seed and Cajun mayo flavors.

Our chef was knowledgeable of each of the cuts of fish. I really enjoyed the overall experience considering you can order beverages from the brewery and have someone bring them to you. The restaurant itself is a sushi stand with a couple of seats. I’d recommend making reservations in advance.

Zero to complain about here! Only praise. An exceptional sushi experience. I ordered the 10 piece omakase. The standouts for me were the shimaji (striped jack w scallion purée and matcha salt). The eel (unagi w eel sauce), the hotate (scallop w spicy tobanjan aioli). Everything I was served was fantastic but the above mentioned stood out for me. The guys behind the counter are engaging and enjoy speaking with the guests. Highly recommended, would repeat!

David and Michael were phenomenal. In case you haven't read the reviews, the only people complaining are the ones who didn't bother to make a reservation and are upset they couldn't jump the line. The sushi is meticulously prepared and the conversation is upbeat. We talked to the chefs about our seven children, laughed at comical aspects of our lives, and thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful Thursday evening with the crew. If you want a first-rate experience, this is your spot. I highly suggest the Shimaji. The combinations of ingredients make a symphony within your mouth. My wife loves the yellowtail and the chefs were quick to pick up on your palette. Do yourself a favor .... you only live once, and this is an experience you'll never regret......unless you don't make a reservation, of course.
