The food was really outstanding. Unexpected for a small town in FL. The atmosphere is simple and pleasant. We started with the deviled eggs that had (cayenne I think) a smooth fill and a fragile greens salad as an accompaniment that made them very tasty. The pickled beet salad wasn't too pickled which brought out the natural flavor. My husband had a thick cut pork chop, prepared perfectly and topped with a traditional chimichurri (not easy to find outside or Miami). A sweet potato purée was an improvement vs. the usual apple flavors. Husband said I had to mention how good it was. I had a chicken piccata special on top of parmesan orzo. There was a little lemon or tang in the sauce. Not a grain remained. Staff was beyond accommodating and knowledgeable, they shared the brunch menu and we're already trying to determine dates when we can make the hour drive to revisit.

This was our second visit to Nutwood and it was really good. The mussels are the best I've ever had! We also ordered the octopus appetizer and it was simply amazing! The only complaint is the beet salad. It was about 6 paper thin shavings of beet root with a little citrus and a few sprigs of watercress and the cost is $13.00!! It was WAY overpriced for what it is. Otherwise everything was amazing. We will go back again for sure.

We came because of the high reviews. My wife and I came for their special Valentine's Day dinner menu. It was 5 courses. The first course was a puff pastry about as wide as a quarter and about an inch tall with some ricotta and honey. Only one per person. It tasted okay but because of the small portion, you couldn't really experience the flavor. The second course was a soup or salad. We opted for the butternut squash soup with maple and cherry. This was the best part of the meal. Though the bowl was only half full, it tasted pretty good. Plus the bowls were hugely chipped in multiple places. The third course was a small serving of risotto, only about the size of my wife's palm. It was covered with balsamic vinegar and that's all you could really taste. The fourth course we picked the steak based on the server's recommendation. This was good but it was sat on top of a piece of brioche bread that was soggy and was not cohesive to the dish. The dessert was just a solid chocolate heart that felt like it was frozen and was extremely hard to eat. My wife couldn't even finish it. We finished our meal and we were still hungry. Overall, the serving sizes were extremely small for the price paid. It was $75 per person before tax and tip. You may like this more if you're more artsy with your food. The service was just okay. You didn't have the same consistent server. They just came and went and they seemed to run around figuring out what needed to be done. It didn't feel like upscale service. It felt like they just delivered and cleared plates and that was it.Parking was atrocious!!! The restaurant is in and old house so there's no real parking lot. So we ended up pinned in until the person next to us came and we both had to reposition our cars for us to get out of the lot.Overall we would not recommend it.

One of the best brunch meals I’ve had. The chorizo tostada had incredible balanced flavor and texture. Everything was thought through and fresh. Just so good. A+ service and cute outdoor seating too! Can’t wait to come back!

After having visited Nutwood a few times I figured it was time to leave a review. This caliber of restaurant greatly surprised me in the smaller town of Winter Haven. The chef has worked under Michelin star rated chefs around the country and luckily opened up his first restaurant nearby. It is located in a former single family home and decorated with a French theme. The Brunch menu is very creative and offers classics like eggs Benedict and pancakes but with their own high end dining twist. I can honestly recommend everything on there. Please pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Everything was delicious. The prices, however, were a bit out of range for the area and for the ambiance. For the same price, I could get the same quality of food and price in a better ambiance, like Arabella's or Fire restaurant. Plus, it was a cool night outside, yet the air conditioning was set as though it was 90 degrees outside. My fish special was very unique--Red Snapper on top of a rice cake seasoned with a red curry sauce. You're not going to find a dish like this one anywhere else in Winter Haven!

The service was friendly and quick. The food was not what we expected. Over priced dishes that had little flavor and tasted like mush. We ended up going to Sonic afterwards. Still hungry and not wanting to spend a Fortune on any more food or sweets. The food tasted very fresh but was not seasoned at all, for that price..it was a let down

Chef never fails to amaze with all his food preparations. Everyone in our party of six truly enjoyed what they ordered from starters to dessert. This dining experience is not to be missed! Beth is the best server & very knowledgeable of the whole menu. She always goes above & beyond in making sure everyone is enjoying their dining experience.

I wanted to post a genuine and honest review here. My family and I went to this place tonight and we had a disappointing experience. We ordered the Mussels and given that we were the first people in the restaurant we were a little surprised to be told that they'ran out of this dish'. Imagine you are the first people to dine somewhere, and you are told they're out of a dish when no one has set foot inside the restaurant before you (at least not that evening). And so to our dismay, when the table next to us ordered the Mussels and had the dish warmly brought over, we felt lied to and super awkward and couldn't wait to leave. Nothing really matters when you lie to your customers for no reason. Not your food, not how cool or sophisticated your chef is.
