I wish i could give no stars. It was an horrible experience.We had to ask bartender silverware and drinks refill. The no management are clueless.Bathrooms are disgusting. Hopefully we don't get food poison from this place

I didn't get a chance to go here before management changed hands but I can say that the current management team is doing great! They have some great live music and the building is always clean and well kept. I haven't had a chance to order food here yet, but I have had several plates go past me and they smell delicious. From what I've been told, the food is great!

Arrived at 6:15pm and we changed our seats after they cleared more room for us another 15 mins later. There was 8 of us. To move out of a booth to a table.My family’s first visit on Taco Tuesday I guess a few weeks ago was that the tacos were super salty but the drinks were good. Except some family said the margarita’s were too sour for them. So as another attempt to trying this place out we went anyways. We like karaoke which they have.Anyhow, tonight we had Kurt as our waiter. He’s a nice guy. He makes really good margaritas. Not too sour. After an hr he took our order. I had two wines before our food even arrived. It took until 8pm when we finally received all of our food. That’s a whole 90 minutes. If Gordon Ramsey was here he probably would have liked the crab cakes but everything else was just ok.I am an avid reviewer and I love trying all house specialty’s but I was not satisfied with the service. The management was singing karaoke instead of checking on the service or food. I found out later the owner showed up and never checked in on any of us either.We had a good time with karaoke but 2 hrs of waiting on food while I had a toddler and a mother who is diabetic (I told the server please bring their food sooner because her blood sugar was low and my son hadn’t eaten since he woke up from his nap at 5pm). He & mom ate the crackers that came with the oysters to hold them until food came.After my husband finally said he was ready to take my son somewhere else loud enough they brought him his chicken quesadilla.And my husband said the bathroom smelled like raw sewage. Gross.Finally after 8:30pm my Aunt got her food. She was there at 5:30pm holding the table for us. They said they had run out of spaghetti noodles and had to use something else instead of coming out to ask her what else she might want or let her know.They also ran out of Cabernet and Merlot’s. The waiter tried to fix it by mixing a wet red with moscato which was appreciated but ewww.And then the waiter at the end accidentally charged my Aunt everything on her bill instead of my $113 ticket separated. So we now owe her $100 cash. Which is no problem but kinda inconvenient. Especially if this had happened to just friends.Also it was hot in there. When my husband starts sweating there’s a problem.I usually always tip 20% but since my Aunt was paying the bill it turned into 14% tip. That’s so sad.This review is also going on Yelp, Facebook, TripAdvisor, and Google. I don’t see us returning.

I'm sorry but we have been dropping in the last month and the food is great honestly, but we come because we expected Kurt to be on the bar, when you have a manager on the bar it really makes you think..who is managing the restaurant.. Don't get me wrong we had a good time but ...we come there because one person asked us to.. this is a great place but customers want who they are expecting.. my grandfather is jumping days just hoping Kurt will be there...Kurt talked is in or begged us to come because of the food,he was right.. outstanding..we will support the restaurant..but as my grandfather was told yesterday, I'm sorry.. you guys need to realize who people are coming there to see ,we were there Tuesday night and I understand a bar gets busy,but at least you had someone to pick up the bartender slack,even when he was behind the bar .. your place can be great it's just people come in because who is working,if who they expect to be working is not there,they are leaving.. you guys have great food, great staff, honestly great everything.. but customers give them who they came for if not...why have customers,if all you are going to do is let your employees bring in a customer base only to let someone else take care of them. I use to go to a bar..on 27, because the managers took over everything...I feel the same thing happening but you guys can stop it.. like I said Tuesday night asking someone else to grab me a drink..a bartender is a bartender,a manager is a manager and honestly your best bartender was making sure your actual bartender guest were good.. see I remember you both from out and about... you guys can have a great place but please do it right,if a manager is on the bar again I hope he is sharing tips with the servers because he is not allowed to collect tips if not you guys are doing nothing more than putting a restaurant in a hole. Hey I work for labor board.. only reason I knew the bar tender was a manager the lady that brought my food out told me..

If you miss trying this place you are missing out. The food was amazing, they do need draft but was told they are working on getting it, drink prices were actually reasonable, especially during the 3-6 happy hour. We are tying to bring a good size crowd the next time we come becacause this is a hidden gem in Winter Haven, keep up the good work everyone!

The shimp and wings are good size. Small menu and no draft beer. Could use more TV'S had to keep turning around to see the game. I didn't see any type of Island theme could use some attention to give that Islands feel like drinks, decor and Island foodParking: Plenty of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Easy for wheelchair.

We recently ate dinner at the Island Bar and Grill in Winter Haven. This place is under new management and you really are missing out if you don't give them a try!! My husband and I were both hungry for steak and decided to try their NY strip. They were cooked and seasoned to perfection! I had the baked potato which was hot and fluffy, the green beans were fresh and delicious. My husband had the jasmine rice and mixed vegetables. Both were amazing, so nice to actually get FRESH vegetables! Our drinks were kept full, service was on point. Support Local!! We'd sure love to see this place succeed!

Taco Tuesday menu is reasonably priced and Karaoke was great.No Drafts- not good, $2 Shrimp Tacos are really cheap but were tasty.Need to learn how VEGANS think too....lol.A fairly good start but the Main Menu is still the same and that is fixable.Being prepared for a rush is paramount in business.Time will decide.

This was our first time here.... We will be back. Received excellent service from Derrick, who was beyond polite, friendly and efficient. We both ordered wings, garlic parm as well as teriyaki. Both were sooooo good, large, hot and cooked perfectly. This was a great experience!! The managers both ensured we were happy with our choices and service. Keep doing what you are doing folks!!!
Went tonight for Taco Tuesday.....ordered 3 chicken tacos because I thought for the price, they would be rather on the small side. Boy....was I fooled. Three huge tacos that were so tasty!! I seriously have never had a chicken taco this good before! We will back without a doubt as I am eager to try some of their other menus items. Thank you Jen and Adam for the great food and service! This was our first visit to the Island Bar and Grill in Winter Haven, which is under "new management." They are still in the "soft opening" stage and so things are not yet fully up to speed. Still, we enjoyed sitting at the bar and meeting the new manager and tasting two delicious appetizers including Crab Rangoon Bites and the Shrimp Tacos! This delightful restaurant has plenty of seating options that includes two bars and an outdoor seating area as well. We look forward to returning here to enjoy good food, music, or other entertainment that is being planned! You won't be disappointed!Maureen
