Amazing food and customer service. I highly recommend you visit George’s Cafe ! My favorite is the Abagail!
Hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I got the pearl and for a meat sandwich lover this is perfect!

How I am just stumbling across this place is beyond me! We stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and sat at the bar, which was perfect because we became fast friends with Doug (their great GM)!
We asked a number of the staff their favorite items and tried a variety of things. The chili was fabulous!! I highly recommend grabbing some to accompany your main entree. I love that everything is homemade. Our group had everything from Tuna, broccoli, and egg salads to the homemade chips to accompany the Pudgy and Cheesesteak sandwiches we ordered.
Doug gave great advice on how to try a number of items and was charming to talk to! The staff was very friendly, but Doug took exceptional care of us while we were there. He made me feel really welcome and the decor only added to the charm. It reminds me of a neighbors house that would feel totally welcome to hang out with over coffee. It’s not trendy, it just feels like a neighbors kitchen and i find that refreshing.
An instagram post about the cookies took me in, but it won’t be last time! Everything was great. The oatmeal, double chocolate, and peanut butter cookies are so delish! They made a butterscotch bar I’m dying to try.
I also cannot wait to try the catering (I’m going to have to make up an event so I experience it) because they can do almost anything you request. The staff was prepping for a number of events while we were dining and were doing a great job.
On Sunday I’ll be there the brunch and will report back. Bottomless mimosas, here I come! 😜

So glad we walked a little past the busier places downtown that had long waits to find this little spot! We sat outside on the cozy porch and had a delicious lunch. Don from the boat tour (a long time resident himself) highly recommended this place & we see why! 👌

I really want to love George’s Café because the location is fantastic, but the service and kitchen management are incredibly frustrating.
The biggest issue here is consistency—or rather, the lack of it. It seems like they are always missing items from their menu. On my last visit, I tried to order a Reuben, only to be told they were out of rye bread. Today, they didn't even have fries. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you have to keep pivoting to your second or third choice because the basics aren't in stock.
Beyond the menu issues, the service has been a letdown. On one occasion, they completely forgot to bring out my nephew’s meal. We sat there eating while he had nothing, which is a huge oversight for any restaurant.
While the setting is nice, the food portion of the experience consistently fails to deliver. Until they can get their inventory and service under control, I’d recommend skipping this spot if you’re actually hungry.

Could hear their food prep/cooks yelling at each other and talking negatively about other guests (Sanford was the one yelling from the back and talking poorly about guests, he was also yelling at a team member named Pedro). Terrible establishment. Also found short gray/blonde hair in their fruit, was disgusting.

My husband and I have been to George’s many times, over the last year, every time we come, you can hear the back of house team arguing with each other, yelling profanities and we just sort of thought maybe that comes with the territory at George’s. This time when we came (2.7.26) we noticed there was no crab benedict on the buffet as we sat down and asked if there would be any. They said they’d put some in right away, we waited because that is our favorite. When it finally came out they brought out 3….then when my husband took 1 and another guest took 2 the man in the back cooking (Sanford is his name) could be heard loudly saying “that man took all 3?!) so my husband and I quickly told the woman behind the counter kindly (since we could hear everything he was saying about us)…we did not take all 3, another guest took 2, and even though my husband had waited 30 minutes, he took only 1. This shouldn’t matter either way considering they advertise a buffet, they never seem to have food out on time or enough to feed people and keep the buffet stocked. They had 5 parties there (mostly outside) eating buffet….so why make 3 crab benedicts (it doesn’t seem like their line cook knows at all what he is doing)? Either way, they constantly have this issue and the icing on the cake today was Sanford (the line cook) could be heard from the back saying “the tall white guy” in reference to my husband continuing to talk about us from the back loudly,so we walked out. Even the kind woman behind the front desk apologized for his behavior and even offered to get George on the line. I really can’t believe after all of these years that we’ve given any business to this place after the experience we had today. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in any establishment. We basically woke up to have a nice breakfast and then spent our money to hear the back of house team yell at each other, talk about us poorly, and the not even get what we paid for. I’d encourage others to stay away, although it seems like most have already written off George’s, we were just one of the last hanging on.

It's hard to explain how bad the service was when four of us went there. All I'm going to say is, if you go there make sure you go to the register to order after you've found your own table. And have no expectation that things ordered together will come out any where near the same time. But if you know one of the staff, feel free to chat them up so nobody else gets anything.

A true gem. My only regret is that I didn’t try out this place sooner. The Pearl is delicious and the Havana (cuban sandwich) is the best Cuban sandwich I have had outside of Miami, and better than several places in Miami. People are lovely here as well. We want more of these kinds of places to thrive, definitely give George’s Cafe a try. This is a must go to place in Winter Park and the Orlando area.

Went here for the first time for breakfast today and had such an lackluster experience. Walked in with my husband and toddler and were not greeted or acknowledged by two servers working. Finally we went to the order now sign and still waited there for 3 minutes while a server was cleaning out the fridge. We explained that we hadn’t been there before and asked about breakfast options. Was told the buffet was 16 a person when menu said 18? We were charged 18. We decided on two buffets and went outside to eat. There was an impressive spread of options for the price but unfortunately all was pretty much cold. The chicken and crab cake Benedict’s were rock hard. We did enjoy the shrimp and grits, waffle and bacon. No one came to clear our plates or check on us the entire hour we were there. We were only approached when we got up to leave an hour later. Such a bizarre experience with no customer service and lackluster food.
