Halal Restaurants near Winter Park, FL

“My wife and I found this on our last day of our Florida trip, otherwise we would have been eating here daily. This is a small shop that is inside the gas station but the food quality and service is 5 star. Everything is HALAL and there are several signs in Arabic and English and the workers confirmed it is Halal. The Birria and Chicken Tacos are seasoned so well and the lady who works in the kitchen is very sweet and was working hard making everything fresh. They use fresh ingredients and we saw them cutting fresh onions and cilantro. The food was honestly some of the best food we had in Orlando. There is some indoor seating. Prices are very reasonable we got six pretty filling tacos for less than 20 dollars. We will definitely come back!“

“The place is putting out mostly excellent food. Got the beef and lamb mixed kebab and it was perfectly seasoned. The accompaniments were excellent - we got the white sauce. I also got the tomato and red onion salad and the only disappointment in the whole meal was the bread which, was a whole grain pita, tasted stale and store-bought. It was a let down after all of the other great food. I will go back however because the rest of it was good and let's just hope they put out some phenomenal homemade bread products in the future.“

“This cute restaurant was amazing from start to finish. It is reservation only, but once you call you will be introduce to Michele who is the definition of amazing service. When you arrive, Michele will greet you and be your server. She will make you feel like you’ve been a regular there for YEARS. The food is amazing and have huge portions. It was loaded with so much flavor and you could tell that it was all homemade. Chef Z mans the kitchen himself!!! We got the lavas bread with haydari and sautéed eggplant for an appetizer and the bread was so good fresh out of the oven that we couldn’t resist eating it all! For an entree we split the Feta Cheese Pide and the Iskender Kebab. The pide is a Turkish flatbread with the cheese baked in (kind of like a pizza meets a calzone) and the Iskender kebab had delicious sliced lamb on top of seasoned bread with a tomato sauce and dallop of yogurt. We had to take about half home. For dessert we had baklava that literally melted in your mouth. One of our new places to frequent.“

“Food here is good- it’s nice to have this option on this side of town. Came during lunch buffet. A few things that didn’t impress me were: the service, atmosphere and availability of food (buffet).

The service was ok- I’m not expecting a red carpet, but it felt like every customer is a number and a dollar sign to just pay the bill. I’ve been to other Indian Restaurants that are much friendlier and warm in welcoming customers.

Speaking of warm welcomes, the A/C must have not been working or the thermostat was set to 85 degrees. It didn’t make eating hot food as enjoyable with indoor dining for the atmosphere.

The availability of food was good, but not great- the goat was low and my husband had asked upon our arrival when there would be a restock/refill of the goat dish- I get it that it has to be cooked, but it wasn’t until we were almost wrapped up that it be and available.

All in all the food was good, it was the other experiences that would make me consider not revisiting.“

“My wife and I stopped in for the lunch buffet (4-12-2004). It was our first time in this eating establishment. The food on the buffet was wonderful. It was fresh and tasty. The spices were outstanding. We like Indian food and this is a winner. The chef knows how to prepare Indian food. The buffet had a very good choice of different foods to try. This place is worth a visit. Also, staff was very outgoing and pleasant. They wanted to be sure that you were having a good dining experience. Needless to say we will be back again.“

“This is one of my favorite chain chicken places. They’re generous with their seasoning and the sauce is good. In this visit they gave us free food, so a plus for me. I like the spice level and how you can choose it, even if the spiciness is inconsistent. The drink is pretty expensive though.“
