We arrived at 12:00, and it was 1:00 before our orders were taken. I ordered Fried Pickles, and they were terrible. The were greasy, and the breading was thick and gooey. The shrimp taco was ok, but the aioli was room temperature. A mayonnaise based sauce was not a good choice for a taco. There were only two other people in the whole restaurant. That was a red light. Will not go back.

We were fans when it was Gabriel's, I decided to give it a try with the new owners. First off we stood around for a few minutes after getting there because there was no one at the hostess stand. The food was really good. I got the Copacabana, it's listed to have smoked pork loin, pulled pork, Fried pickles and cheese. I never found the pulled pork though. The fries were phenomenal. The service was slow though. Our server showed up smelling like cigarette smoke a few times. I would go back and give them another try.

Unfortunately this place did not live up to what i was hoping. We had great service. Nothing wrong there, our server was very attentive. However, my food was just off. I had the pork loin with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The pork loin had an odd gravy with chunks of pineapple in it. The description did say pineapple but I though like pineapple juice in the glaze. The sautéed spinach had a lot of large chunks of garlic in it and I like garlic but it was to overpowering. The mashed potatoes were my favorite but they had large chunks in them. Overall just not what I wanted for a birthday dinner. Please take what I say with a grain of salt because I know they have not been open a while. But my husband and I live a mile from this place and won't be back until I hear from a friend that they enjoyed it. Building is beautiful!!

Awful. It is a shame because the building is beautiful, but that's all it has going for it. The staff was unprepared and a hot mess. Our food was bland and menu choices were few. Loved going when it was Gabriels, but will not go back. I hope eventually someone who knows how to run this restaurant to it's full potential will take it over.

where do i began the dead give away was the place was deserted at 7 o clock. the tea tasted like boiled hot dog water. WARNING: the coleslaw has horseradish and taste like horse piss. The golden mashed potatoes (recommend my the waiter) had a whole garlic clove in a single severing and no it wasn't mashed. the chicken and country fried steaks were grease bombs. first time and last.

We love coming to the restaurant but have to wonder why they raised the prices and changed the menu. Gone are the delicious creamed corn, hush puppies and corn muffins and most of the scrumptious deserts. This used to be a go-to place for fantastic Southern cuisine. It's more generic now. While their Southern Fried Chicken Breast is still the best around and the Corn and Cheese Grits especially yummy, the creme brí»lée was relatively tasteless and apparently the very special Italian Wedding Cake is off the menu. We'll return because the food is still above average but will miss The Old Mill menu.

Beautiful building, great service (thanks to Shay), excellent food. Fresh & tasty. Prices are a little high but we surely enjoyed the experience.

Wouldn't even have given it 1 star. Terrible, unfriendly service. Food took forever and was cold when it finally came out. Kept coming to the table to tell us they were out of certain foods we had ordered. Didn't give us refills until we were finished with our food. Seem to be very under-staffed in both the kitchen and waiting staff. Will not be going back. Loved it when it was Gabriel's. What a shame.

Absolutely horrible. Gabriel's was our favorite place to go in Acworth. We have gone religiously for the last few years. The restaurant is now under new ownership and it is horrible. The food is extremely bland. The calamari tasted like rubber bands. Our food was plated wrong, so we had to shuffle food from one plate to the other to actually get the correct dinner. The server, although very nice, seemed not to care that any of this was going on. The owner of the restaurant was walking around with no care in the world that the patrons around here were not happy. As we were leaving, we overheard the cooks talk about all of the complaints they had. Amazing restaurant has completely gone downhill in the matter of weeks. So disappointing.

The atmosphere was delightful, everyone was very friendly and our server was right on. We got fried pickles and they were the spears 4 or 5, when you went to take a bit the nice crispy breading came off and the pickles were a little cold, I would prefer the chips better. I had a grilled chicken which was very tasty and full of flavor. The hand cut fries which I love was just ok, they didn't seem very fresh, there was just something about them that wasn't that great. As good as my sandwich was that's not what I was in the mood for. Very limited choices in the entree section not much to chose from. No grilled chicken dishes. I hope your restaurant survives good luck. I will be back if you bring in some more entrees more choices.

The building and atmosphere are beautiful! Very warm and cozy place to have some good southern food. I was very hungry so I dug into my food as soon as it arrived. My first bite was fried chicken and gravy and it was delicious! Also, it explains why there's a bite taken from the chicken in the picture. 😁 I got mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The potatoes were very good. The coleslaw was okay; it had a sort of kick, I'm thinking vinegar but not 100% sure. I finished my plate though. My husband got the country fried steak and it was also very delicious! I wish they had a kids menu. I had to order a side of potatoes for my 1 year old and it was $3. 😬 The menu is a pricey, but it's worth it for an occasion. We'll be back, but probably leave the kid with a sitter.

The menu is just right, alot to choose from but not overwhelming with choices! The food is "food coma" worthy and match the price! I got a burger which was massive meat wise and topping and was cooked to my liking! Worth the trip, can't wait to peep out the brunch! The scenery is cozy to me, gives off a warm vibe! I know this will sound funny to most, but they played some r&b, the guy was pleased!

Oh my goodness so good! I've been twice in two days! Once for supper medium steak with sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes then again for brunch lobster dip with chips and chicken fried chicken dippers with potatoes, grits and gravy.. plus drinks and the best bread pudding I've had since moving from Louisiana! I will definitely be back! The owners and bartender are great friendly guys and I can't wait to hang out and party here during the summer! Great food great service waiting on the great summer fun/activities!
