Food was awesome! Best seafood we have found in Albany, GA.

My very first AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar experience was in Destin FL, and I give them 1000/10. I was extremely disappointed in the AJ's in Albany on 10/14/2025. My first visit, and they couldn't pay me to go back and eat there again. The appertizers are frozen and just put in an air fryer or fried. We had the Jalapeño poppers, Calamari, Mozzarella sticks on a platter. Ordered Gator tail to go for someone else. They said the gator trail was definitely not gator meat (they've been to the other AJ's as well) I ordered the pick three combo and my choices were crab cake, oysters, and shrimp. Upon receiving my plate, I had the waitress go ask if the crab cake was frozen and it was. It looked like a chicken patty, that was liquid in the middle. I sent my plate back and got it off my ticket. As a chef I do not like sending food back, but I could not allow myself to pay for more garbage! Management should visit the AJ's in Destin and redo everything. The Bathroom was clean but has an old smell. They have a very detailed sign telling everyone how to properly wash their hands, which I appreciate. Please put detailed signs in the kitchen with new recipes and not frozen food served for fresh seafood. Our waiter was friendly but did not refill our drinks. The coke was flat. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT! I do not see how they are open!!! If you are ever in Destin, try that AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar the food is fresh and delicious!

It's been a minute since I've gone to AJ's. You're not going to assure you it's probably my last. The 25 shrimp special that you get on Mondays for $19.99 came up to $25.41, since when did tax become so high? That was my first issue. I am supposed to get 25 shrimp and only got 19. That was my second issue. And the shrimp look like they came out of a Gordon's fisherman Frozen box from the grocery store. That was my third issue so overall, I'm not satisfied. Oh, and did I mentioned the shrimp we're not good. Had I known it was going to be like that, I could have saved myself a lot of money and pick myself up a box of Gordon shrimp it probably would have been happier

The prices are different from what they charge you. I think they need to look at their menu and make sure that the right prices are on the menu. The food was bland. I thought I had cooked it😔

Best service ever. The keep replacing your Cold beer mugs while ypu are drinking a pitcher of beer.

We have lived in Albany, Ga 8 years and this is the first time we ate here. The reason why is because we were told it was a bar and customers could smoke. We don't smoke or drink, so this is the reason we never stopped in. Well, We were riding by, and my wife said, Pull into the parking lot and let her walk in and check it out. I'm glad we did because there's 2 entry doors, one for smokers and other non-smokers... We split a fried seafood platter that was very reasonably priced. It had a good portion of seafood. It was just like the seafood we got at the beach. The only reason for 4 stars is that the non-smokers' side is super small, and there's 2 glass doors that go into the smokers' room. The servers go in out all the time. Therefore, you will get a little cigarette smell if you sit by the doors...
We will definitely eat here more often and try and sit as far as possible from the doors.

Towards the end of our meal, we could not locate our server. Got our own to go plates and had to find someone to ask for our $127 bill! Ridiculous!

Smoking area is NEAT!!!

Great service and fast delivery of food. Food was all right, but not worthy mentioning. Old, dated and uncomfortable dining tables, chairs and booths. Ate here once about 14 years ago. Nothing has changed.

Food was great and the staff were amazing!! Very attentive and hospitable, I felt like family as soon as I walked in the door!!

We ordered the crab-stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp. Sent it back. The drawn butter dipping sauce was rancid and there was absolutely no crab stuffed in the shrimp. The place has not updated anything in a least 15 years. Drinks were watered down. Won’t be back.

Came is at 935 front door was locked went to the secondary door lady stated they were close went to my car and three people walked in. One guy came back outside I asked were they closed he said no. Went on inside people weee eating and waitress that told me they were closed was serving drinks. Ordered drink but I ended up checking out and leaving service was horrible and person behind counter was busy asking what we doing tonight. I understand work life balance but you guys should change yours hours if you are not going to stay open.

Love this place .. u can eat drink and smoke ... they have a section in the back for non smokers
