This was my first time at Blackbeard’s in Albany, GA, and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The fish tasted burnt, it didn’t look burnt, but the bitter burnt flavor ruined the whole meal. The hush puppies were hard as a rock, the food wasn’t even hot when it came out, and the grits had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. It felt like the food had been sitting for a while before it was served.

On top of that, it didn’t seem like anyone was there all day, so the food had no reason at all to be cold. The lady at the front desk had a bad attitude and acted like she didn’t want to be there, no greeting, no smile, just dry and unwelcoming.

For the prices they charge, the quality, service, and atmosphere were all completely disappointing. I expected so much better, but I definitely won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

My fiance's favorite childhood restaurant aged poorly. Her fish was delicious but my BBQ was lukewarm at best and dry, as if it had been under a heat lamp. The service was almost non existent as the manager had to hunt the server down so we could get our check when we had a 3hr drive home ahead of us. Somehow one app and two entres came out to 72$. We feel robbed. The food quality and service needs to drastically increase before they can justify these prices.

If you want seafood, you are good. dont order anything with meat. you will a microwave dinner. Hamberger steak was so hard and burnt that I could not eat it. The gravy was jelly. No taste what so ever.

It was girls night out and the food was delicious. Our server was Shanta and she was awesome. She was helpful with the menu and with the orders.

Great experience! Sharon was super awesome!! She moved my family to a bigger booth when initially seated at a small one. Only complaint is that we had a big delay between ordering appetizers and ordering entrees but they still came to the table together.

We sat there for 30 minutes and no one took our drink order. The only waitress that walked by didn't even look our way and spoke to everyone else.
