Went for lunch yesterday. Great to see Albany is starting to shine in the restaurant department! Had a craft cocktail that Dori customized to my liking! It was superb! The shining star in the food department was the short rib grilled cheese. I even asked for garlic aioli (not on the menu) for the fries and they accommodated! Service and conversation from Dori was spectacular! Now to figure out coming back for the dinner menu!

We came to The Tavern today for lunch and we were the only patrons gracing its presence. By the end of the meal we understood why.You have an identity crisis. On FB you advertise the place as The Tavern @ The Decanter. The @ The Decanter part is very small and very easy to over look. People don’t know where to go. You should drop The Tavern and advertise it as The Decanter is open for Lunch. We ordered the smoked tuna dip to start. The dip is amazing and we love the pickled onions and jalapeños with which it is served. The thin chips however, are less than desirable. They left a bad taste and crumbly things in my mouth. Small suggestion- serve with pita chips, bagel chips or some sort of cracker. The entrees are reasonably priced. However, my husband’s sandwich said it came with the choice of fries or potato salad then had some fancier options for a $2 up charge. He went with the potato salad. When the bill came, we were charged $2. The waitress said it was a premium side and that it is listed twice. Ok, I’m not one to raise a stink over $2. But then I notice my bill creeped up from $45, to $48, to $50….how did the price change you ask? They add a 3.5% fee for using a credit/debit card. I’m sorry, I run a business and as the merchant choosing to accept credit cards, that is your burden to bear. At a high end restaurant, if you want to recoup the cost, you should find another way. It puts a very bad taste in your customers mouth…no pun intended.Dear Rob, that is why your lunch will go under.

Excellent experience at the tavern, food was excellent and just a notch above everything else locally. Definite food destination right here in the 229

I will definitely go back, my granddaughter and great niece enjoyed the pool very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I also look forward to going to the restaurant soon. Heard lots of good things about it.

The staff here is amazing and takes customer service very seriously. Little bit of a maze finding this downstairs Tavern. Ordered the Irish Boxtys appetizer and they were a little dry. John the bartender immediately had it redone and it was delicious. The sweeping view of the golf course from the patio is very beautiful with a alligator sunning itself by the pond. The price for drinks is very reasonable with the food cost slightly higher. I will definitely be returning.

Creative menu and excellent service from the staff. I’ve been wanting to try this place since I heard about it. I went around 1:00 on Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. I ordered a bourbon and coke which was $8.00 but was charged an additional $2.50 for the splash of coke. I found that to be unnecessary. For my meal I ordered the Italian Chicken Cutlet which was served with mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, and a mushroom demi glace. The flavors were very good and had the cutlet not been dry, it would have been perfect. There’s such a fine line cooking chicken, I chalk that up to it happens to the best of us. I’ll definitely be back as there are a number of items I want to try. Overall I really enjoyed my first visit and recommend The Tavern as a unique experience for all.
