The food was decent but not worth the price I paid. The waitress was nice and timely, but management was absolutely awful. I’ve never been treated so poorly by managers at a restaurant before for doing absolutely nothing. My friend and I had been at the restaurant for about an hour (where we each paid about $30-$40 for our meals), when one of the managers came up to our table and very loudly asked us how we were doing to which we both replied by saying “great!” And she followed...read full review
I would never recommend this establishment. They are absolutely disrespectful and rude. They need tips in customer management
I had a very negative experience at this place, primarily due to the staff, including the owner. They racially profiled me without knowing who I was. We were waiting for a table outside, and my daughter’s friend had a baby. The staff told us that we couldn’t have a table until all members of our party were present. Hen Mother Cookhouse is a favorite breakfast and brunch spot, offering top-notch food and specials to look forward to. The ambiance and service are exceptional, creating a cute and inviting location. Visitors can expect high-quality breakfast food, with a particular highlight being the Oat Hot Cakes. These cakes feature a crispy outside and fluffy inside, made with various seeds and grains for a hearty and healthier option. They are served with poached blueberries and maple syrup, and spreading jam between the layers is also recommended for an added kick of flavor. The dish is massive and great for sharing.
Another highly praised item is the house brined and crispy fried chicken thigh, noted for its thick seasoned batter and crispy texture, reminiscent of an elevated Kentucky fried chicken. Breakfast tacos are also available and considered pretty good. While the chai was disappointing for one reviewer, lacking expected spice flavor, the overall experience is still highly recommended. The restaurant can get very busy on weekends, as they do not take reservations, but the adorable drink cart outside for those waiting is a genius touch. Seating is available on a secluded patio surrounded by trees. The servers are kind and knowledgeable about the menu.
