The Derby is a great neighborhood bar! I've been coming for years. It's not fancy, overpriced or pretentious. It's like bars used to be! It's a great place to have a drink and grab something to eat. You can play pool, shoot darts, or play cornhole. I also like it because I can enjoy a cigar at the same time! (Yes, they allow smoking, so just know that before going). And, the service is always good. I'll keep coming back!

I have lived near The Derby for a decade and never visited. Last night I decided to change that. There was a good vibe. Beer and Food was reasonably priced and tasty.
My only knock was the service. I sat at the bar Saturday evening with it half full. You can feel the regulars vibe, everyone seemingly knowing one another. Just what I was hoping for.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a word from either of the two bartenders aside from taking my order and asking if I'd like another beer. I wasn't expecting to give a history lesson but they never even asked my name in the hour and a half I sat there.
Well, I do still plan on visiting again, maybe next time I will feel a bit more welcome.

Mozarella sticks is not very good, but this bar is a hidden gem! You can smoke inside, play pool, and enjoy a pint. Its everything a middle aged man could ask for! I love derby!!!!

This bar has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town! The food is absolutely delicious — far beyond what you’d expect from a typical bar menu. The service is outstanding as well: the staff are warm, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great flavors, and know you’ll be taken care of. Highly recommend to anyone looking for excellent food and service in a fun atmosphere!

Very Very diff establishment/ atmosphere/ crowd than a few years back....Me and Lady dropped in for brew and maybe food ..took several mins for ' waitress ' with multi arm tats to even acknowledge us , then with out even saying hello asked ' what do you want '..we were candidly turned off..are familiar with the prior owner, he Never would Allow this level of encounter - but clearly the new owner does..also have heard in our close knit neighborhood that unfortunately some honest / less than rolling-over accommodating customer$ have been barred for their candor and Honest on-line reviews which were *dishonesty removed by owner....from experience in the local area, we'll be surprised if they're still in biz couple years from now...* Being a customer is voluntary... we'll pass this word on locally, that's how biz works...our review is in the sincere spirit of honesty and community information 🙏

Just had an awesome time at Derby Sports Bar! The food is really good, and there’s a ton of drink options to choose from—all at great prices. The vibe is super fun, especially if you’re a sports fan. The staff are super friendly and easy to chat with. If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a game with nice people, Derby is the place to be!

A Hidden Gem in Alpharetta,,, Solid sports bar with killer game-day vibes, TVs are everywhere. Could watch the game from literally ANY angle. and the smoke-friendly environment gives it that classic dive bar feel. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the burgers and chips are legit. Bartenders know their stuff and the crowd is always chill. Felt like I time-traveled back to peak college mode without the stress of finals
Free parkings are plenty even during big games, if you want an authentic sports bar experience with zero pretension, The Derby is the jam.

Food was excellent and drinks were fairly priced
Our server/bartender was the best.
The music was great and atmosphere was fun.
They were all very attentive to us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves.
We will definitely be back and have already started telling others about this place!

Had an amazing experience at Derby Sports Bar with my friends! We ordered the Fajita Nachos, Cheese Sticks, and Cheese Fries, and everything tasted fantastic. I've honestly never seen cheese sticks that big—they were delicious and generously sized. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with great vibes all around. Loved that they had pool tables and darts available, adding extra fun to our night. We visited during their St. Patrick's Day event, which added to the festive atmosphere. The bar itself was impressively clean and spacious, allowing each group to comfortably enjoy their time without feeling crowded or intrusive.

Highly recommend Derby Sports Bar for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a chill, enjoyable environment!
