Gladys’ Kitchen is a staple in the community, synonymous with Southern hospitality and comfort food—and they did not miss! From the moment we walked in, it felt like visiting your favorite aunt’s house on a Sunday after church. The food was hot and fresh, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was well-seasoned, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The dressing was a tad dry but still flavorful. The collard greens may have been cooked with pork, which I don’t eat, so I didn’t have them—but I did taste them. They were finely cut, well-seasoned, and definitely not from a can. As I was leaving, I was asked about my experience, and I later realized I was speaking with Ms. Gladys herself. She was sitting in the lobby, observing and ensuring that everyone had a great dining experience. I highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality. This feels like “down home” ♥️

I went to this Restaurant on Nov. 7 and Orderd Fried Chicken Rice with Gravy and Turnips and 2 Cornbread Muffins totaling $16.20 I was serviced by a Rude Tall Light skinned Male that Occasionally works there I think he is the Owner's son so I watch him service a White older lady gave her 3 pieces of Fried Chicken instead of 2 like everyone else and fixed her plate meats 1st vegetables and sides 2nd like they always prepare their meals so he starts servicing me and preparing my plate he decides to to to the other end of the line from where I was standing and ask me what did I want I told him I wanted 2 pieces of Fried Chicken which he ignored my statement and asked me what sides I wanted 1st Rudely which prompted me to say to him, "So you starting down at the sides instead of where you normally start at the meats" so I told him the 2 sides I wanted and he Rudely said, "Is that it?" I told him, "I only can get 2 sides with my meal, i'm not getting anything additional" mind you this meal costs almost $20 for 2 pieces of meat and 2 sides with cornbread so I had to state to him, " You still haven't put my 2 pieces of Fried Chicken that I asked for on my plate" then he asked me did I want a Cornbread flat patty or a Cornbread Muffin. I do not understand why Rude people want to work in Customer Service they do not like serving people but want to be in people faces and be extremely rude. I have to evaluate should I visit this Restaurant again after experiencing this Poor Mediocre Service.

We ate lunch here, and I must say that nothing we ate didn't satisfy. The fried chicken was delicious and juicy, but with a crispy crust. The vegetables were seasoned very well, and the Butter Roll; what can I say? It's not a bread but a dessert. "? It's some kinda wonderful, yes, it is, it's...."

I get so angry when I eat at Gladys'....simply because I cannot cook ANYWHERE near this good! Customer service is amazing...just don't have plans afterwards because you are going to need a nap!

We were visiting the Carter Center in Plains and I was craving southern Soul Food… FOUND IT at Glady’s in Americus, GA ?

We went to Gladys‘s as a special Treat as we know they have good food. We ordered online an hour ahead so by the time we got there, the food would be good and hot. We were the first ones to arrive at the restaurant so we drove up to the drive-through window. We noticed people started to come and go with their food and we were still waiting for someone to come to the window. After about 30 minutes of seeing 10 to 15 people pick up their order finally the lady came to the window. She could not find the order and didn’t seem like she knew anything about online orders. Finally I got out of the car and went in to see what the problem was. I told them we had been waiting a long time over 40 minutes for our order that we called in on young lady there very nonchalant like oh it’s here …that was all she said. She made no apologies for the long wait and mixup with the order and then she charged us full price without even giving us a free drink. Customer Service is key… No matter how good your product if you don’t have a good relationship with your customers, your business will fail as word will get around. We will never go back there again. We are locals

Very popular, friendly local restaurant with Southern cooking items like turkey wings, fried chicken, greens, mac cheese, sweet tea or lemonade, and sweet potato pie! Lines can be long so plan accordingly. The line moves quickly and it's a rare treat. Staff is friendly and remembers us from previous visits. Enjoy ❤️
