sooo a bourbon on the rocks and an old fashioned $26... it was happy hour but we didn't get the happy hour prices.... because i mentioned a bourbon name.... bartender failed to mention that............ the bourbon was a stingy pour measured in a small jigger............... I ordered the chicken confit.... menu says led quarter... got a small leg and mashed sweet potato for a outrageous price.... I can buy a chicken leg for 75 cents ............. not happy.... staff was wonderful.... business sucked... won't be back

Bar South is so damn fun. It’s a perfect spot to round out the night when you’re in Athens. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. On the weekends, when school is in session, it really gets going at 11pm. Plenty of space before then. This is a great place to catch live music. Oh and the happy hour is absolutely stellar - really good deals on some amazing drinks like SUNBOY Spiked Coconut Water which is only $4 at happy hour. Unheard of. Definitely check this place out.

Bouncer kicked out a DD at 0030 because he said a 28 year old man jumped the fence to get into the bar. He physically can't jump that high.

Great hole in the wall Athens bar with authentic beat up bar pool tables. Free pool with deposit on the balls.

Love bar south! Sean O’Malley is the best bartender in downtown athens you’re missing out if you don’t come buy a shot from him.

Bar South is one of the best bars in downtown Athens! Go for a game of pool or to take shots with the cute bartender Sean (he’s the best ever!!!)

I’m a first timer ..and I can say even tho it was crowded didn’t take long to get drinks and they were on point .. so if I can’t give a 10/10 for the service I received alone I would … and I’ll be back again .. It’s a viiibbbeee

Think me and wife wondered in walking off martini buzz. Live band was playing. Sounded great. Southern rock vibe had the ladies moving. Beer was for sale and had a nice variety.

the bar is low for college town bars but this place takes unprofessional to a new level. the owner is blatantly disrespectful and condones inappropriate harassment of innocent customers . not even worth all the trouble because this bar isn’t even that good to be dealing with that

This place condones harassment of women who reject their employees, saying that the women “heckle” their employees, but as she was walking out after FORTY FIVE minutes of being there and being let in by the bouncer (minding her business of course), the “heckled victim employee” was screaming “get out WHORE” and asked everyone if they wanted to get celebratory shots because they kicked out the “whore” as he said, even though she never looked in his direction or spoke a word to him, and was in the bar for several hours last week with no problems what so ever. That really sounds like he was getting harassed to me! The management, staff, and bar are a joke and I’m never setting foot in there again. What a waste of space.

$12 for one drink on a Saturday that wasn’t a game day when the drink is normally $5 on a regular day. Also the bartender gave himself a tip on my receipt after bad service.

Bartenders adjust their tips on receipts and double charge. Keep your receipts!
