I am not leaving a one-star review, though I feel my experience warrants addressing. I understand that during busy periods delays can happen, and I am generally patient with that. However, it took approximately 30 minutes before I was able to receive my food and sit down, and the delay appeared to be avoidable.

There were two employees working the chips station who were engaged in conversation rather than focusing on food preparation, which contributed to the wait time. Additionally, I observed an employee with braids wiping down counters with a rag that appeared to have been used repeatedly on multiple surfaces and then handling food without changing gloves. This raised concerns regarding food safety and hygiene.

I share this feedback not to criticize, but to bring attention to areas where staff focus and sanitation practices could be improved to provide a better customer experience. Please train your employees better. I know they’re young but they are teachable I promise.

OMG! I am from Dallas, Texas. Since being in Athens we have struggled to find good food especially good Mexican food. This was by far some of the best Birria I have had since leaving Tejas!!! It was tender, the consume was amazingly flavorful! La chilè was amazing!!! Will be ordering a second time this week! Thank you for being sooooo good that you remind me of home!!!! Would give 32 stars if I could!!!! Ordered on Uber Eats !!!!!

My family loves Barberitos. This place is clean and the food is great. Sometimes its hard to hear what the employees are saying, but I think its just because of the set-up. Not really anyone's fault.

My family comes to barbs a couple times a week, mostly this location on 29. My daughter, ALWAYS gets a ‘kid bowl’ the Mexican girl there tonight would not simply do just that. She argued, had a horrible attitude then proceeded to talk shit, in Spanish, to her coworker. Not to mention the condition of the restaurant tonight, chips and trash all over the floor. Absolutely not the barbaritos experience we’ve come to love. Not sure we’ll be back anytime soon. Do better.

Very long line and the young workers that were making the orders did not explain a thing. It was my first time there, so I felt like an idiot ordering. I even told them I was a newbie and they just gave me a half of a grin and continued on. Food was great though and I will go back since the food was delicious.

Went here the other day, got a bowl and a nachos. Employee made the bowl fine, but when it got to the nachos, he skipped over the meat. I asked him if he added the spicy chicken and he claimed he did, even though I am standing here watching him make the food and he did not touch the meat. So I waited until the nachos made it's way to me where I looked in there myself, and saw there was no spicy chicken anywhere. When I took it back to the line, he still claimed he put the meat in there, without even looking to see for himself that there was none. He then said he would put some more and tell me that now I have extra, presuming me to be a liar just trying to get extra meat. Very unprofessional. Good thing the one on Epps is better.

I come here fairly regularly but that's going to change after my last few experiences. Today, in particular, I ordered a ground turkey mino burrito via my app. They finished it up as I was there. Got home and the thing was ice box cold. Not room temp. But actually cold. It was it pretty gross and disappointing for $12.

I always tip on the app. Gonna stop doing that since I'm tipping for cold burritos, forgotten guacamole, and sometimes mediocre service at best.
